Don,
This wont be "fair", but DEMON is a glorified Holley. I bought three Demon carbs for "Frank Henry's 351 engine. ( Frank was at the DVSF, dark forest green with champagne gold stripes, and champagne/fawn interior)
Now this was about 3 years ago... I absolutely could not get them to run right. I'm really starting to doubt myself and my ability's at this point! Numerous calls to Demon. They tell me the idle circuit was not drilled large enough. They told me I had to tear this brand new carb apart, buy a special "hair sized" drill bit and mandrel, then drill out the passage. Ok.. I can do this, Frank is getting antzy! He want's his car back.
I pull the bowls off and you would absolutely not believe what I found! BOTH bowls were full of metal shavings! I mean to the point that there were "piggy tails" in both bowls from the original drillings from the factory! I showed this mess to Frank and sent them to "DEMON" first class with a little note of interest from my point!
We did the best we could with what we had, I now think Frank has gone through at least 4 Holleys, two Demons and I have no idea at this point what he has on his car. I do know he has had some pretty serious "Holley" guys rebuild them still without great success.
The typical problems, constant "rich" , stumbeling, hesitation, and leaking have plagued him from the start.
Are they better now? I have no idea! Sorry.
