Artur, rear is not Fox Mustang. Top mount is different. Front is longer than Mustang II. Are there numbers on the shocks we can cross reference? It would be helpful to get compressed and extended lengths of shocks. As far as brand I like KYB. The clutch we need the diameter of the clutch disk. What engine? Small block Ford, FE, 460 or SBC, BBC?
|
Thanks Jim — all measurements will be out tomorrow
It’s a 351windsor small (!) block — I think with the last machining, it got little bigger |
Artur, One more measurement, 1 1/16" 10 spline or 1 1/8" 26 spline input shaft. What transmission? T5 5 speed or Toploader or Borgwarner T10 4 speed. HTOB or conventional clutch fork?

Here we go with the answers:
- I am getting the shocks locally, so that’s under control for now…I have a question though — does it need to be 1-1 replacements of the same shocks ? Isn’t there a possibility to just recommend a shock that would fit well regardless of what is currently on it ? And if that’s the case, what shocks are guaranteed to fit and good to recommend ? - clutch disc diameter: 10 inch - 0.98 inch and 1.18 inch are the measurements you asked for spline - engine 351w - gearbox picture attached - I believe it’s a t10 ? - you are asking a question about clutch type, am not sure about the answer. I’m sending you clutch disc and clutch plate pictures |
Your trans is a T5 with an aftermarket bellhousing/ scatter shield. That looks like a stock clutch disc for a Ford T5. Make sure you inspect the shaft bearing the is pressed into the hole in the center of the flywheel. Nice time to replace it. If it is worn out or missing you will have driveline vibrations that will destroy the trans. Also inspect the throw out beating- it is mounted to the clutch fork and slipped over the input shaft of the trans (sorry if you know this, not trying to be anything but helpful).

There is a tag on the trans (I circled it in the photo). Get a photo of the tag numbers and I can decode the model of the trans for you.

i am having trouble sending pictures
the numbers i see on trans 10233 M0512 13-52-202 |
Looks like 10 splines on the clutch. If you are sure it is 10". 10.5 is more common:
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mcl-75213/make/ford Take the thick rubber spacer off when you check the front shock compressed length. The rear are Gabriel Red Ryders. The number on shock will help me identify them. I can tell you what you need if I know the compressed and extended lengths. I'd crossover to KYB Gas-Adjust. |
1352-202 T5 # is WC SVO, 2.95 first and .80 OD fifth. A very good T5. Must use ATF fluid. A little under 3 Qts.

I am going with local supply of shocks and clutch set Brakes are ordered as discussed earlier based on the sets you sent earlier with master cylinder 1inch as Jim recommended |
Hello everyone
Like to report back some progress and one field I'm lagging behind Brake system - fully replaced thanks to all support I received from the forum Clutch set - done all with original parts sourced locally Shocks -- plan was to source also locally but we got wrong shocks I like to give the dimensions that Jim Nichols asked last time: Front open: 17 inch Front close: 13.4 inch Front: black color shocks Rear open: 17 inch Rear close: 11.8 inch Rear: red color shocks Unfortunately no part number marked on shocks. Only thing we see is a "red Ryder" logo on rear shocks Appreciate your thoughts P.s. the local supplier suggested we try a second order of Monroe shocks based on these dimensions....any idea about Monroe ? |

Before I forget I also need these rubbers :(
|
Do you have a copy of the build manual? It has many of the basic parts and where they come from
|
Artur, Rubber front spring isolator is Mustang II. I'll check KYB for shock dimensions.
|
monroe part # from build manual
Artur -build manual part # for front shocks Monroe #2067 or Monroe gas #5815
|
The build manual I found says front shocks are Monroe #2067 or Monroe gas # 5815
