Explained many times...

Cell phone cameras don't record the image in the orientation of the camera. They record it and then add a "metadata" that notes the orientation. It takes much less time to just capture the sensor data in one direction rather than rotating it.

Old forums (and this forum qualifies as ancient) ignore the metadata.

The windows picture viewer can be used to fix the orientation as it actually rotates the pixels.

Some cell phone editing apps can now also do it.
