Brakes continued...
Don, thanks for responding so thoroughly about the CR brake problem. My car is a '92 and I haven't had decent brakes yet !
I would love to have a new pedal with the new pivot point and I will call Pete to order one. I am in the middle of pulling the motor to install a newly done 427 center oiler. I would like to change from a C6 to a standard transmission, so I quess I would need a clutch pedal also. How about a clutch cable as well? Do you have themm too or a part number that I can get from a loval supplier. What transmission and bell housing would you recommend? Presently, I have 355:1 gears in the rear. I would like to have a tranny with a highway gear ( for long trips). I have read some posts about the tremec TKO and the toploader. Or should I call someone else like David Kee ? I am trying to get things done in time for DVSF IV. I know, I know, I left it a little late, but the garage was too cold to do much earlier. Thanks Paul |
Paul, Pete can help with the clutch pedal. The only way to setup the trans is with a hydraulic throw out bearing. You can use a stock bellhousing but I would suggest a scattershield. You will need to mount a clutch master cylinder on the firewall and fabricate a mounting point on the clutch pedal for the rod. I would suggest you call David Kee or Southern Automotive as I'm sure they can set you up with everything for the changeover.
