Did 1991 CRL's come with branded gauges
Pete from CRII informed me that at a previous time CR did contract with VDO to private label guages for them. Just in case anyone else wants to know.
I just brought home this saturday and sunday the 1991 unassembled kit from San Jose: while going thru the dozens of boxes I came across the gauges and installation instructions. The gauges are black with white and red lettering and the brand name on the gauge is CRL I assume to stand for Classic Roadesters Limited which was the name of company prior to closing. The instructions for gauge installation were from some marine gauge supplier. I was thinking that perhaps CRL had this guage company make these special for them and put the CRL name on the face of the guage can anyone confirm.
Another good find was two chrome license plate frames that say "classic roadster' in excellent condition. I assume also from the factory.
Now I got two of these things to build since I purchased my first one this past November.
