I just read this thread. I am a Ford fan no question, but it is a matter of economics. For the same money, a SBC is too inexpensive to build for me to consider another route. I had a ridiculous engine built that is a small block 434, mated to a race built 700R4 automatic. I get deep low gear, a boat load of parts availability, when I am 60, I will still be able to find parts. Best of all, I found some Valve covers that say "Powered By Ford". That will through people for a loop. Except of course you guys that are reading this. |

Somebody please make me a reasonable offer on the car so I can get it out of my garage and have room to work on my 38 Ford Coupe that I'm dropping a Merc flathead and T5 in. All the roadster basically needs is a motor and transmission and a title. I'm tired of looking at it (it is a beauty though, I have to admit).

Well, Sir, what do you call a reasonable offer in this economy? You'll be lucky to get .50 on the dollar. Why don't you just sit on it for 5-10 years? Then you will have an antique. :) If you have to have a fire sale due to circumstances then just say so. I suspect some members have deep pockets. Good luck.

I would rethink the Chevy motor. I agree put what ever YOU want in it but when the day comes to sell it 98% of anyone interested will walk away from that combo. That's just my opinion and I think the majority would agree with me. But I'm sure when you hit the gas it's just as much fun.
