Cobra Movie

Hi,

I've not been on this forum for a long time, but thought I might share this small movie I've just made for The 289 Register.

It's low resolution and cut 10 minutes shorter, so it fits on You Tube. The original is better quality and will be shown on the 289 Register stand at the NEC Classic, Birmingham, UK in November.

Hope you like....:)

Cool views

Thanks.

It's my first attempt at making a movie. I already have plans to do another, but next time I'll make sure the footage I use is better quality. I'll probably base it around a track day at Donington, UK, early next year. 10 of us Cobra owners have been invited by the GT40 Enthusiasts Club, to join them on a 'noisey', 'open pit' event.

Great job.........I must say that the music in the beginning reminds me of the "Stingrays". Good music so maybe it is just me...........:)

I'm pleased you like it. It was my intention to give the driving action some excitement, using music with a retro 60s vibe.

The full version of the movie went down well on The 289 Register stand at the NEC, Birmingham, UK. Legendary Cobra racer Jack Sears was our special guest. He spent nearly 3 hours on the stand, chatting and signing autographs etc. The show was a great success.

I'll be making another movie in the Spring. Hoping to get lots of on-track footage at the Historic Ford V8 Festival at Donington in April. Hoping for a good mix of original and replica Cobras and some GT40s amongst others.

When is someone going to do a Carl Shelby documentry? Car by car...race by race?

Great Movie of a Classic Car

Congratulations on a fine showing, the music was in my opinion very compelling and suited the subject very well. I would like to pass it on to my expat collegues here in China, but You Tube is banned. Is there another media you could use? Just asking. Cheers, John , AKA, tin-man

If you PM me with your email address I'll see what I can do.

The movie has now had well over 2000 hits. I'm already making plans for a new one. The next one will feature some original Cobras plus on track action with members of The GT40 Enthusiasts club.

Phil is in the black Cobra #65 and I'm in the polished Kirkham #89.

Is that a Coventry Motors clone at 13:35?? Do you know who's it is? By any chance can you tell me what the paint code is for that car? Looks very nice:D!

I enjoyed the video...more engine noise please;). Very nice job!

Yes, it's an exact replica of the Allen Grant car 'Executor'. This aluminium bodied car was manufactured and built by Hawk Cars, here in the UK. Hawk Cars are renowned for their quality and accuracy, producing all replacement parts for original 60s cars and a range of exact models including the AC Ace, 289 slabside, 289 FIA and 427sc and comp cars. Knowing Gerry (the owner of Hawk Cars) the colour will be correct. If you need any info, you can contact Gerry Hawkridge via his website here:

This is my latest movie.
I made it for my friend, who is the owner of the 1964 Cobra in the film. There's certainly more engine noise in this one!
