I'm getting close...all I have left is lower radiator hose,( its a PITA) fill up fluids and inspect all new hard lines for leaks, Had to remake 1 fuel line that the flare wasn't quite right. got new tires installed today. then hope to have it on the road. Got to go to DMV to tag it, without emissions I hope. Jay

Drove it just down the street tonite...no tags yet, waitiong on insurance paperwork to tag it....Jay

Its insured, tagged without emission, and I'm driving it some, ran into one problem. it doesn't want to rev into higher RPM"s off stop. I went thru it several times and everything checked out ok. Plugs are black as carb is running to rich. Today as I was working on it, it came to me to drive it without air filter lid in place. problem solved, new air filter assemble won't flow enough air. I'm headed to Don's Hot Rod shop in the morning to see if they have a set up I can use. My wife, BJ, brought home a "Spectre Catalog" tonite and there are a couple that might work in it, It will be a very tight fit between hood, carb, and body. Jay

Thanks again to Fred for all your help in the last couple weeks, I'm slowly getting the bugs worked out and if the HOT weather every decides to leave I'll get out and drive it more to see what else pops up. It was 106 + here today when I did test drive it and temps are staying about 195/200, so it should be good. Jay |
