Default I'm new.......

Greetings from Arizona
Just bought AC Cobra I found sitting outside for last few years, last tagged in 06.

Spec Sheet
Dark Blue Metallic with white stripes
American Mag wheels w BFGoodrich tires
Kit by Advance Classics (Los Angeles
429 Ford engine w 13 Qt oil pan, double oil filters
and oil cooler
C6 Ford transmission with shift kit, double oil filters and cooler
Posi rear diff with 3:08 gears
4 wheel disc brakes, Granada 11 inch with Chevy calipers
IFS Mustang front end
1965 Mustang Column, with Mustangll Rack and Pinion
16 Gallon Fuel tank
6 core radiator with 2 electric fans

This car cameout of Califorina, its tags read BLUVNM
I towed car home and spent several days cleaning out pack rats, cleaning fuel system, install battery and got car to run. Now I'm redoing fuel system, Moved fuel pump out of trunk, I'm now bending new, all metal fuel lines from tank to pump, then up to front of car. also made new dual feed lines for Holley carb, have new tires on order, I have several weeks of clean up and spruce up to get car looking better and do PM service to make it ok to drive. I know I'll have Questions... Thanks Jay

Default WELCOME to the SICKNESS

Jay Arter Welcome. Good luck with the car. Take your time to go through everything on it and replace all fluids in it. Looking forward to pictures and stories. No cure but a whole lot of fun. Hope wife or girlfriend can adjust to the new mistress in the house.. Rick L. Ps after you go out for the first couple of times, DON'T go into the house with that silly smile on. Look beaten down and go to the throne room and orders some new parts.

Thanks for having me around,
Rick, Not a problem with wife and new Lady in the house, I'm a lucky man, She works in parts store so all my normal parts are at 10% above cost. And she's dying to drive it! and she will. Plus we have about 8 other HOTRODS sitting here at present. SHE LOVES OLD CARS!!!!!!! and puts up with me! Now if I could win the lottery I'd have it made! Jay

Greetings from Tucson, Arizona
I've been bending fuel lines from tank to front of car, I already did engine dual feed to carb. Probably 2 more hours to go! Any advice on where to buy headers and can they be installed on car with body attached? I've looked around on internet but haven't found them for the 429! I'd like to see some pictures of your cars underhood or anyone in Tucson area thats around to see how you did your underhood area. The guy who bought this Cobra must have gotten a big discount on wire ties or owned the factory. I bet there are a couple hundred in this build!!!!!! Gotta clean it up some. I love clean built engine compartments and lots of metal brake lines to hid vacumn lines and wiring.

Thanks Jay

Default Try companies that have this motor in their kits

Jay Arter Jay There are a couple of companies here that put 429/460 motors in there kits. I know ERA doesn't as a normal. The other idea is to build your own and have some one finish off the tig and coat them. Not going to be cheap either way. Check old ads first for who might have a set and go from there. Try the 429/460 forums also for help. Try Superperformance and then Factory Five. Good luck Rick L. Ps A wife who likes cars, a wife who like your new mistress, 1/2 dozen other toys, there must be something in the water??

Greetings from Arizona
When I was building my 69 Camaro droptop few years ago, she helped me drop in engine one Saturday nite, transmission next day! Her ride is a 67 Elcamino, 327/350hp, 700r4, 12 bolt with 3:31's, We got 20+ mpg going to Prescott last weekend for a car show with ac on!

Thanks for tips, I'll try them, My friend who does alot of welding thinks he can weld these if need be! Pulled of header heat wrap and found rusted holes in few places.

Have a great weekend, I'll be in the garage playing with fuel lines on Sunday! Jay

WAAAY cool find, Jay!

As for posting photos, I found that a free account at Photobucket dot com works quite well. You'll upload your photos from your computer and once they are on Photobucket, click on "edit" and change them to medium size, then copy and paste the IMG code into your post, your photos will appear in the post on the forum.

After all, this IS important, b/c...

Cheers from Dugly

Not in the 12 or so years I've been into this but there have been a lot of these companies that have come & gone, over the years.
