Default Looking to build my dream car

As with everyone else on this site I fell in love with the cobras the first time I saw one. I am now in the position to get a kit and start building my dream. I have lots of reading to do but I do know what I want. Really I just need to find the right place to order the kit from. I am looking at the factory five mk4 no donor kit and will be running a 427w crate engine most likely with a tko600 trans. Any advice on this setup or experience with this kit would be great. I have the metal fabrication and mechanical skills needed to pull this off but I have almost no experence with glass work so I am hoping to get a kit that has top quallity fit and finish from the factory. I hope to be able to finish the job for around $50k.

I have that motor and transmission combination on my FFR Mk 3.1.
Just got it running, but it appears to be a fantastic combination so far.

If you motor has the Z heads, the FFR stock headers won't fit so maybe you can have them deleted from your order.

$50k will get you a very nicely done roadster.

Oh, and we didn't have any body or paint experience either, but ended up doing our own body and paint. The Mk 4 bodies are supposed to be significatly better than what we got so it should be doable if you decide to go that route.

Good luck!
