Awesome ride!!! Plenty of good advice listed above. Once you feel you have done a proper overall check of your ride and you feel a little bolder. You might consider taking your ride to a very large parking space & get a feel for the break loose points on your car. As in take off's, stopping, cornering, etc. It will be a good way to use up those ice skates you now have on your ride. Yes, new rubber will handle different than burning up the bfg's. But you will get a real feel of what you have before the new rubber goes on! :) Good luck and !

Congratulations, that's a gorgeous car indeed!!
I'm so happy not to have real Winter here in California. That must be a long waiting period... I'd consider hibernation ;)

Beautiful car. That is an impressive color.

Simply outstanding! I am sure it was well worth the wait.

I've been reading about the M/Ts and might go that route.

Congrats and welcome to the SPF club. You should definitely get new tires I have the Mickey ST and am very happy with them. I have also done the RT Shock tower upgrade and a slew of his other mods. Sway bars, ball joints, shocks, springs. Makes a huge difference and his shocks have a ton of adjustments.

Please enlighten me on what the RT shock tower upgrade is. Am I correct in my assumption there is no adjustment on the factory rear shocks?

Tim7139 02-24-2016 02:19 PM

The rear shocks mount to a bracket bolted to the frame and can be a source of failure largely do to the bolts. The upgrade uses a far sturdier bracket with more/better hardwear.
It is fairly inexpensive and a straight forward replacement, did mine last summer, couple hours with handtools. At the same time I used it as an oppurtunity to bolt shoulder harness' into the frame since the locations are a couple inches from the new mounts.
You probably would benefit from membership in the SPF owners group which is cheap and has lots of technical articles as well as all the upgrade data with how to stuff apleanty.http://performanceunlimited.com/cobr...ion/img159.jpg

Very nice ride. Color is close to mine. Is it Matador red?

If you can, make a video of some of your drives and post it so we can all see you enjoying that beautiful Cobra.

Ron

We hit a record high of 64 degrees yesterday in Iowa so I pulled out the Cobra and gave my daughter a ride. She took a short video with her phone.

I'll post the video if I can figure out how to do it.

Ron61 02-29-2016 03:22 AM

That would be great and the weather everywhere is weird it seems. We go from the 80s to the 30 overnight and it is really hard for an old fart like me to adjust to. I may try to get one of my cars out this week and make a short run and video it if I can go where I would like to.

What a beautiful Cobra. I pick up mine tomorrow. I feel like a little kid at Christmas. I'm absolutely giddy.

Congrats! Giddy is good, but think slow, slow, slow to start with. I mean, even brush your teeth in the morning slow!;)

I was also surprised that the suspension was a little softer than I expected. I've had a Pantera and Porsche 944T for 29 and 26 years and both are stiffer than the Cobra. I only noticed how much suspension travel there was going over some dips in the road.
.

Greetings from MN! You are lucky. I only got to drive mine onto the trailer in December. I have the good fortune of owning a number of very nice cars, but am truly excited about the Cobra.

BTW - I also have a Pantera and have always regarded it as having decent ride quality. Had mine since 1984...
