Size “Issues”

Looking to buy a Cobra, but can’t fit at 6’4, 225lbs. Tried a big and tall backdraft, visited unique in Alabama (great guys, willing to modify, but still not driveable). Would appreciate finding anybody my size who owns one and can drive it “almost”, thx.

Look at a Lone Star with the 94" wheel base .
As far as I know they are the only replica with the extra four inches in the interior. The doors are four inches longer. Other replicas have 93" 94" and 96" wheel base but the interior is the same as FFR or Unique.
I owned one for 18 years and put 42,000 miles on it. Very comfortable on long trips.


You can move the pedal forward an inch maybe. Put the seat on a track or just mount it as far back as you can.
I have a buddy the same height as I but his legs are longer so his seat had to be moved back more than mine. So the length of your legs are more important than you height.

On an Unique you would have to trim the driver side tunnel down some for more leg room. Easy to do.

We have a local member with a FFR. He is 6'4" - 6'5". I don't know what all he did to modify the car but he fits.

I've been driving a Classic Roadster Cobra for about 25 years and 45K miles now. I'm 6'5" 225lbs and fit just fine. It's a very comfortable car to drive for tall people.

The Classic Roadster Cobra is 94.5" wheel base, the seats and footboxes are set down in the frame, and I believe the cockpit is just a bit wider and longer than a standard sized Cobra.

6' 3" and 250 lbs. csx cobra dropped the foot box to level with bottom of frame and put a Ken Miles aluminum competition seat and have room to move it back more if I needed to. Pictures on Webber thread FWIW.

There was a member on here years ago named Bob Evans. He was around 7 feet tall if I recall correctly and Unique Motorcars was able to modify their car to fit without distorting the beautiful proportions of the Cobra shape. He drove it quite a bit to events and gatherings, etc. Do a search on his name and you may find some useful information.

Over 6' and over 250 then. The CSX was the only one that I fit in. Tried several iterations of the SPF and in both the steering wheel hit me on the lap. I'm "long torso" so in my case the seat wasn't all the way back for most comfortable pedal position.

Seat can be lowered by removing some of the stuffing... They become uncomfortable though.

I've seen guys driving cars with their heads above the windshield... And I'm not talking the short stubby racing windshield.

Take away is that I ALWAYS advise a buyer to sit in the car you are going to buy. Not someone else's of the same manufacturer. There are differences between them. Don't end up with a car you can't fit in.

I drive a CSX 4000 and I’m 6’5” and 240.

I may look over the windscreen at the start of a cruise, gravity brings me back down on the way home. Lol

Bob Evans is 7' 1". Can be done.....

I second C5GTO, on a Classic Roadster, most of the 4.5" are in the interior and 3" wider. I've had many over 6' & 225-250lbs gentlemen sit in mine, none had a problem with room. Most came with 302-351 and T-5 speed, find a well built & maintained one.
