Comeing along nicely. There is a big part of me that wishes I built mine instead of buying it. Next time I will do it. Looks like you are having a lot of fun.

Default Build update 9-4-07

I got the bright idea that I needed some extra elbow room, so i fired up the sawall and this is what I came up with......

A little body filler and now I have all the room I need!!

wow, that's good build so far. Have you posted your build on FFCobra.com ? Your door modification would get some people asking you to keep them posted as I'm sure some have thought about this lack of room but nobody I know of has ever done what you did. YOU'd give a lot of people some hope.

Keep up the good work; it's worthi it in the end!!!!

Yes, Glass mat and resin with body fill over the top.

289 (Herm?)

I post over at FFCobra as P Wyman and was very surprised no one has done this before. I didn't think I had an original idea in my body

Here's a link to my first post Driverside door mod (Update w/ picts 9/4) - FFCobra.com - Factory Five Racing Discussion Forum

Morris Clement did the same mod to his aluminium door on his Kirkham. Yours and his turned out great. By the way I have been reading some of your stuff over on the FFR forum. You're doing a great job. I am building a Daytona Coupe.

Default I'm back!

WOW, had to take a little time off to take care of some family business but I'm back and working on my Cobra. I want it on the road for the Summer Run in Lake George, NY. I'll post some more pictures in a short while

Pat, glad things are going well on your build but I do have one point that needs your attention. As I was going through your posts I noticed your avatar and then found that that pic is NOT in your CC photo album. Don't be holdin' out on da homys man!

Guys!

Been a while since my last build update so I thought I would share. I have all my paper work into DMV (wish me luck ) and finishing up a few details (Fit the hood, add mirrors...) I'm running this year in gel-coat and getting the bugs out. I'll paint it over next winter ('68 Highland Green). May not be up to Garage Freak's build but I couldn't be happier! This journey began during the Summer of '03 with the purchase of a rusted out '87 GT (used the bell-housing & parking brake handle ) I can't tell you how many things have gotten in the way but I kept at it! Looking forward the summer and making some real noise!

Sorry about the crappy scanned in pics, my digital camera went AWOL!

Thanks, Pat

100% road legal as of 6-5-09 Picked up my kit on 2-26-05, only took me 4 years and a little over 3 months

You can't wipe the smile off my face with a 2 X 4!!

Still need to finish the interior and paint it BRG but that can wait until winter, I'm driving the wheels off it this summer!

Steve,

Thanks for the kind words, I'm located near Albany, in East Greenbush. Are you planning on going to the Lake George Run July 10-12. Great time. Closer to you, I'm also planning on going to "Snakes & Grapes" along Lake Seneca August 1 &2, never been but the wife is a huge wine fan and she is looking forward to the wineries.

I'm trying to run the wheels off mine!

Pat
