The SPF has 2464 miles...it was built in 1998 buy Bob Bondurant and his crew. It has a one off chassis plaque "Bondurant/Superformance"
|
Van, methinks the man (and one prior) is asking for the SERIAL number of your friends car, ie in their "what is the #" question. ?
Many 'running changes' have been made to SPF' s over time, and they would be better defined by serial number and not 'date of sale or engine install by Bondurant'. ie, an engine install to complete the roller to a turn key car could have been done in 98 to a car built in 96, 97 or 98. As I recall, Sir Bondo did 35 or 50 of these before he stopped selling SPF's . I have two friends that bought two he did and they were pre 300 serial # cars of rollers built in 96/97. Good luck on the sale. Bill Wells. |
Hi Bill...this was not a roller but rather one that was completely done buy Bob's crew. There are 200 pics of the build created by Bob which the seller has in leather bound album. Copies of the pics will be available to new owner....seller is keeping originals. As far as chassis # I think it may be 078 but don't hold me to it.
|
if serial is 078, it is probably a 96 assembly build at the latest, mine is 156 and it was a 96 build by the factory but not sold until 98 as a 1st time sale/ turnkey. .
roller shold be the description of any spf as that is how they are sold by the dealer, a complete roller, imported from so africa. so therefor your 'completely built by bondo' is confusing. car would require engine/trans installation, everything else is in the roller when rec'd from the distributor. bondo could have chosen to make other changes to suspension , or brake upgrades, or different tires/wheels etc but otherwise all is already there on the car when recd....just no engine or trans and related/required accessories to install same...bill , spf 156 |
Sorry for the confusion Bill...did some digging and the # is 175
Hope this helps |

I would like to know status of Bondurant SPF. Is it still on the market? I may have an interest in this car if still available. Are you a dealer or broker?
TML [email]tml993@bellsouth.net |
Terry...the SPF is still for sale. I am in the finance business that specializes in exotics, classics, muscle cars, and Cobras. The Bondurant Cobra is on consignment to me. Please give me a call at 617-584-8619.
Thanks, Van |
Van-
