427 Side Oiler wit Doug Nash five speed, Jag rear with Koni, Wilwood Brakes, Nice Condition 5500 miles, special rims polished, nice interior. What is the value of a car like this. Owner is asking 50k.

I would offer him $40k and then split the difference.

Wow, agreeing w/ Jeff . Try to pay around 40 if it is in really nice condition. Except the Doug Nash, those are all standard components on a Contemporary. I have a Contemporary also--look in the member gallery. E-mail me if you want price I paid.

Bill....is yours for sale for $40, if so lets talk???!!! $40 might be ok for an average car, would think top of the line is going to bring $10k more minimum.

Assuming that it has all the nice little pieces like the aluminum paneling in the engine bay and perhaps trunk, the right gauges, wheels etc, and that it's a later model car with the upgraded front suspension $45K is a good number. Unless it's a show queen with polished everything $50K+ is a pretty tough number in this market. But I'm with one of the earlier posts I'd probably offer $40K and cross your fingers!
Good Luck

Always "lo-Ball" the asking price--never hurts--and if the vechicle is "dealable" in "your " price range-- Go for it!--prbably low to mid $forties would be about right.
