Bill S: Whatever.

Jamo: Check the top of this thread. Notice my telephone #s? I suggested the "broker" contact me off line. Never did.

Steve Sunshine's comments above were dead on.

Turk: You told me someone else had first dibbs. I don't think we can connect on price though.

You are also right. A car like mine doesn't need a broker nor was I seeking one but one injected himself into the mix and then removed himself.

What can I say except anyone interested can contact me at the number at the top and I will be happy to talk and email info.

Please stop the comments on this thread. Thank you. This is my last post on this thread. Anyone interested just call as noted.

Thank you.

Evan

Just a thought. Instead of multiple threads...buy a sticky and we'll lock it up. Stays on top of the page.

MidOHasp 09-07-2004 08:42 AM

You'd really think an interested buyer and an interested seller....both regarding a six-figure car....could "get together". This is truly amazing, and education on looking like an a$$ to be sure.

The way Bill puts it, you'd think he was brokering an illegal arms dealer or something. For once I gotta agree with the Real One... if you want the car, make a damned offer...everyone knows all about Evan's car

TTT......you're welcome!

Lurk,

I pay for my advertising here, I am an active member of the forum,it's not against any of the user agreement that I signed when I first joined, and Brent does not have an issue with it. Sorry if it offends you.

MidOHasp,

The whole idea behind asking for things in writing, is so I can share the requested correspondence with my overseas client. Far too much get's lost in the translation. Besides, every lawyer I've ever delt with always wants me to get it in writing, so why should it be any different now, especially when it was for a big ticket item such as this. Guess there are two sides to every story or opinion.

I find this all very interesting especially since I'm actively pursuing the purchase of Evan's cobra off line.

Gary Morris 09-07-2004 11:07 AM

This has been a good popcorn thread. First car I have seen posted for sale where you have to guess at the asking price which usually means very expensive and I don't need any of the viewers to tell me so........where's the butter.

Hope you get a real price for it.

Gary

ON EBAY

NO MORE GUESSING.
ALL THE INTERESTED PARTIES ARE APPARENTLY BIDDING ON THIS CAR. NOW'S YOUR CHANCE.

Direct from the Ebay advertisement:

"Item Specifics - Automobiles
Shelby : S/C
Shelby American 1965 427 COBRA S/C"

It's interesting how cars mysteriously age by 35+ years when they're being sold on Ebay. What's the problem with stating their true year of manufacture. Sure, it's "real". We've heard it all before - but I'll be damned if it's a 1965 Shelby Cobra.

Advertising poetic license aside, for those that have not seen this car in the flesh - you haven't seen the most perfect paintjob that has ever graced a Cobra. Truly stunning !

Craig

The peotic license on the 1965 designation was instated by Carroll Shelby when he issues the titles on his CSX 4000 Series. That's what it says so, the "repita por favor" should be OK and accepted.

Thanks for the clarification Steve. I wasn't aware of that. You should also be congratulated for getting those beautiful alum racing seats onto the market. Great job !

Evan,

Not trying to stir things up, but I'm curious as to what promted you to sell the car? Are you looking at something else, or did the car outgrow your needs? Good luck on the E-bay sale. If you don't get what your looking for, I would take a strong look at the upcoming Barrett Jackson Auction. They seem to fetch more there!

No rush to sell. Will sell on my own. Not interested in BJ.

Looking at a Carrera S.

Evan,

REAL 911s are air-cooled :) .

Dan Semko 09-12-2004 07:04 PM

And vintage, Eurospec'd 930's are at the top of the list.
You're allowing one of the finest slip right through your fingers.....I bet you like Hillary too!;)

Bill Kesner 09-13-2004 01:21 PM

Evan.....

Selling their Cobra's for a Porsche was what the original owners were doing back in the sixties. It's the other way around now. These days, their selling their average every day Porsche's for a Cobra! You've got it all backwards. I'm afraid there is no hope for you. Have you been talking to Turk again??

As REAL 1 has always been the master of the technicality, it has to be noted that the description-
"DON'T MISS THIS RARE OPPORTUNITY TO OWN AN ORIGINAL SHELBY AMERICAN COBRA WITH THIS LEVEL OF DETAIL AT A PRICE YOU COULD NOT DUPLICATE IT FOR.

Call Evan Harris for details"

-is incorrect.
Per saac, this car is "authentic", but not "original".
It's still a nice car, though.
Good luck with the sale.

cob43 09-14-2004 03:14 PM

It's not real or authentic unless it was built in 1965 which of course we know it was not. It is just another kit but it has Caroll Shelby's name. Talk about deception. I wonder if those new Real cars meet EPA standards. If they are real wouldn't they have to meet today's EPA standards??????? Just asking???

Dsprint2000 09-14-2004 03:43 PM

Evan - perhaps you can ask the moderators to open a new thread with your original note and lock it......morons. (not the moderators)

Good luck on your sale....

David
