Nice car

This car would look beautiful on the Kentucky Cobra Club website, may we use the photos of your car and we would give you a page devoted to the car?

What are you looking to get for the car?

Sorry, I am kind of new around here. Is that a real Cobra or one of those rebadged Polish jobs?

computerworks 08-26-2004 08:14 PM

CSX4xxx number designates the new series... and, yes, he polishes it.

Hal Copple 08-26-2004 08:30 PM

really handsome car, but i looking very closely at the picture above, it appears to have a slight misalignment of several of the hoodscoop rivets.

in jest, of course.

Sorry Ron,

I meant to type Polish as in having to do with Poland, not polish as in what those Kirkham owners do to their cars. **) **) **)

Oh, I did type that. :3DSMILE:

REAL 1 09-02-2004 02:52 PM

Turk: No.

Bill S: Why do you ask? Are you interested or just "curious"? If interested make me a reasonable offer. If your question is posed for someone who is let them make a reasonable offer.

Slow8: Its never been rebadged. Its always been badged as a Shelby Cobra which is what it is.

I sent a letter in response to this. Let's just say, I hope they print it next month..

Steve: Is the car glass or tin? Makes a big difference.

All I know is Billy told me glass CSX cars have recently sold near $90K. Your old car just resold for $99K. Barrett Jackson auction last winter saw alloy cars selling between $110k and $140K. The writer of that little column may find the foregoing to contrast with his statement. In fact, Billy' at HRE is selling and quoting alloy cars from $130K nicely built, equipped and detailed with top 427SO or 427alloy power. I understand there is a 4 month wait on rollers from Shelby now too.

As far as being a speculation investment, some probably did buy on speculation. If the CSX 4XXX series is going to have investment value it will be in the future, not now. IMHO.

CSX 4027 09-02-2004 04:42 PM

Evan

This was a glass car that HRE built. The new owner of 4027 looked at buying it before buying 4027. He wanted $93K and paid more for 4027.
This one is nice but has little detail in my opinion.

mrmustang 09-02-2004 06:13 PM

Evan,

The fact that I asked without any wise cracks should be enough. All other information is strictly confidential and will not be discussed at this time.

Evan,
All joking aside, stick with your "ideal" sale number, whatever that may be. I listed CSX 4148 4 times via ebay and found a buyer who happened to see it listed and contacted me off line. If you list it, be sure to list a complete, detailed list of the build and all modifications. At the bottom of the description place this statement: "high bidders please contact me at (your email address) at the end of the auction.
I sold ours for $119k and split the shipping with the buyer. I bought the car to enjoy, not on speculation and appreciated the beauty of the build (and the sordid history;) )

Best of Luck...besides it has the correct Optima batteries!:D
