 intricating cobra look-a-like car!

		http://eBay Motors item 597541454
O.K. it ain't a cobra but I like the lines and admittedly it shares some with the 289.....From the outside looks it seems like finely built.....Being built of steel (body) rather glass put it in another class than the more common glass modified car. There was something similar in the late 50s early 60s...wasn't it "Vega" in Europe? Some of you specialists out there ought to know? |

What can I say - Great Minds Think A Like!

I also like the looks but some thing just isn't right.
I can't seem to put my finger on it... |

was it not a Facel Vega?**)
	 |

A hand built steel body and tube frame, with independent suspension and everything else, for a $16,000 minimum bid? You kinda gotta wonder about that.
The front fenders do look a little like a Volvo P-1800. The Facel-Vega had an even uglier front nose, if that's possible. Overall, not a bad looking car, though. Bumpster |

Ron - you need to stop smoking that stuff:3DSMILE: I can see no similarities!

 ...whoa

hey...I didn't say they looked the same...I was just trying to help with a Facel photo.
(hmmm...there is kinda a family resemblance Quote:

Its me who evoked the possible ressemblance between the two..I didn't have a photo of the vega on hands then and it shows!
To be blamed to the lagging memory more that any smokable products.. I'll dare trying again: A 1957 (?) BMW roadster I remember seeing and being struck with ressemblance to the 289 street car that was to come many years after....Nobody would have a pict. of this one to edit here? Out of curiosity I've e-mailed the seller and asked if this has been reconstituted using different cars parts and no that is pure creation from A-Z body and frame...I'm impressed! |

 ...how's this?

 Ron,
Nice pict. thank you! Am I getting closer with my comparisons?? |

 Italian ??

I remember this car because I had a friend that drove one in the mid 60's and was an innocent bystander killed in a bank robbery in New orleans and the car sat in impound with the top down for a couple months. the car was brought back to Nacogdoches, Tx and sold for a pittance of what he paid for it. Italian, 289 Ford with a BW 4 spd. by Intermeccina but don't recal the model.
