I guess the lesson here is to know for damn sure what you are buying across the pond or elsewhere and trying to bring it into the US! Looks like the Feds aren't messing around.

The 25-year import prohibition isn't a new thing, but when people import a non-compliant car from overseas, they don't leave the government much choice than to destroy the vehicle. The only option would be to ship it back at the importer's expense.
