Thumbs down Fastco Fastone? Fastco Fraud?

First.. Thank you... I saved almost $4300 by using the Club Cobra Forums.. Here is the rest of the story as Paul Harvey would say.

In April I saw a post for the engine(s) described in this thread. It seemed reasonable that an original unmolested top oiler in good condition would cost me a little over 4k.. So I replied to the parts for sale post..

But something didn't add up.. no pictures were to be had for the longest time.. Casting numbers were very vague or didn't make sense. Was there a top oiler made in 1966 or wasn't there.. Why would the casting date seem to indicate 1969?? They didn't do a 427 in 1969.. Or did they.. What was the R casting number about? Has anyone seen a head like that before?

The punch line.. Yes they did do a 427 in 1969.. In the past three days I have seen two of them.. They were top oilers installed in Chris Craft boats, Trojan Boats and some others.. They were "left overs" from a once proud racing effort..
Great.. Right? No.. Many are machined as to not be able to be adapted to a side oiling configuration. oh, and yes.. HALF ARE REVERSE ROTATION... And those heasd C4AE-6090-C 1964 390 heads..

Fastco.. Fastone? Fraud? You tell me.
