Fed Ex
I`m not a happy camper with fed ex , I paid for freight to my door. Fed Ex thought it would be better to have our local mail carrier deliver my sidepipes, instead of delivery truck needless to say I had to make 50 mile round trip to the local post office for pickup , why don`t these people get ther crap together I don`t know what they thinking did they think our mail lady could jam a 41pound box 4 feet long in my mailbox?

Fedex has let me down many times in the past....personally I am good friends with my brown truck driver :)
I like him...he brings me gifts...I wish they would let Jarrett drive the truck. Matt |
Jarret is the one that does not want to drive the truck. Boys in brown would love him to drive the truck!

Maybe the brown truck only makes left turns!

They lost my pipes for 5 weeks last year. I ALWAYS request that the shipper NOT be Fed-Ex. They didn't even refund my shipping when the pipes went from Tempe, AZ to San Luis Obispo, back to Tempe, up to Sacramento, who know where else, back to Tempe, then to Yuma and finally here. They used to throw the boxes in the yard where our dog would thank them for the new toy. The could have left them by the gate or the garage.
I think you need an IQ less than three digits to work there. Sorry if anyone on the forum works for them, but I have not had one good experince with them. My wife would tell you I am using considerable restraint on this thread. |

Actually my brother is a UPS driver up in Salem,Or. He has told me that I should never put big "Fragile" stickers on anything. He says that is just giving the handlers a reason to throw stuff around. Though, personally I do send most everything UPS & have never had a problem. |
Don't ask Turk about the brown truck... He had parts going all over the place except where they should.

I like the Brown Truck.....they have brought me many toys for my Cobra.

I ship dailey and find UPS and Fed-EX both have their fair share of issues. The difference to me is that the DRIVERS at UPS seem to care while the drivers at Fed-Ex don't seem to give a #$%#. Switched to Airborne - a bit slower but no issues to date. Time will tell.
|
I have a friend that works for Fed-EX and I asked how he was paid compared to UPS drivers and he said it was not even close. Maybe that is why UPS drivers care more because the do not want to loose their High Paying job. You would be suprised how little Fed EX pays compared to UPS.
I guess you get what you pay for. Fed EX is great for sending paper documments from city to city but they usually suck at sending bigger packages out to the country or suburbs. |
Fed EX*&^%$$#
I'll summerize by saying they did'nt deliver, or call me after my pipe shipment arrived in town, because the shipping COD paperwork was for an individual instead of a Company.??? The story goes on: because the pipe shipping box ?? looked like a missle container, they opened it. They ommitted repacking them, just throwing them in the bottom of a metal shipping container without any of the packing or spacers. Then shipped them back to Calif. Upon arrival to the coating vender in Calif; the "period" was corrected on the paper work and they were shipped back to Florida. Now we have accumulated about 5000 miles bouncing around unpacked in the metal box. Needless to say the coating was damaged and numbereous small dents. The only good part of the story, after two months of paperwork and phone calls they settle an insurance claim. Now I still have to get the pipes repaired/replaced and recoated? The worst event of the whole build! Thanks to Fed Ex. gn |
As Michael Jackson would say...They are all "Devilish". My Brother would love to relocate but with UPS it has to be a family emergency or you start all over at the bottom. He really doesn't want to leave his well paying driving job to start over loading trucks at starting wage on graveyard shift. I also have a Friend who has a Fed Ex route in south western Washington. I really don't know the details but it was his dream job & he loves it. Don't ask me why?

Did you hear??????
.....Fed-Ex and UPS are going to merge? The new company will be called................................
.....Fed-Up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rick:3DSMILE: |
Gentlemen
Thanks for the good words ( for the most part ) I worked for UPS for 25 years. I retired in 1995, so I could build my cobra. I really get out of shape when I order parts and the vender sends them FED-X. I still get paid each month by UPS. The brown truck is not as fast as the # 88 Ford, but there is a lot more of them. |
Airborne Express got confused with our address because it is a house, but has the letter B after the house number. AE sent the package all around and finally called for the correct address and argued with me that the address was incorrect. They finally delivered the pachkage, but no-one was home so they tossed it over the fence rather than putting it by the gate where we park our cars. Our dog thought the package was for her (and did what dogs do with toys) so we called and complained, but they said there was nothing we could do since it was after 15 days from when it was PICKED UP. I said it took more than 15 days to deliver. They said it wasn't their fault since it was an incorrect address (and we re-hashed THAT issue again).
I still would rather deal with them than Fed-Ex. |
Sorry boys...I've worked for Fed Ex for 27 years...not in the customer facing end of the business, however. I won't deny we have our problems. But, I will point out the UPS driver who delivered a $4500 professional video camera to a friend's front porch when he wasn't home. No problem, you say? Well, you'd be right except for the words "SONY PROFESSIONAL SERIES VIDEO CAMERA" emblazoned all over the box left sitting on his front porch! We're thinking it wasn't on the porch more than 15 minutes before some yahoo decided he had discovered a new treasure. Needless to say, "Gone in 60 Seconds" now has a new rival. Upshot was that Mr. Brownshirt bought him a new camera, to the tune of about $4500.00!
Bottom line is that one has as many bad experiences as good ones with either. |
My 2 cents worth. I have had really good luck with UPS and for the most part with Fed Ex. The UPS drivers are friends of mine and they can't leave anything unlkess I sign for it. They used to sign my name and put my stuff in a safe place I leave open for them but the company changed the policy. Only 2 bad experiences with Fed Ex. One they lost a minor package and then told me they couldbn't do anything about it as it was lost. The other was they tossed a printer out the door of the truuck and of course the box it was in was already torn to pieces so I refused to take the printer. The driver got kind of mad so I just told him to go away and either take it back or leave it but no way was I going to sign anything. So things can go wrong with any shipping.

I will specify UPS from now on
I bought some expensive wheels that were shipped FedEx ground. I specified NOT to leave if not signed for. My wife caught the driver leaving them at the front door, he did not even ring the door bell. When she asked if he could take them to the garage, the driver got pissed off and started to load them back up to send back!!
Well, the next week the tires for said wheels came via UPS. The driver rang to door bell, and offered to drive to the back of the house and put them in the garage. |
:D I LIKE FED EX :D
And Flying Freddie's second cousin TOO :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: I've used Fed Ex for more than 20 years with only one minor problem in that entire period. I think Fed Ex Ground is great also, seems like pretty cheap way to ship big stuff. I get plenty of stuff thru UPS also, especically around the holidays. I really don't have any complaints; except we haven't seen any more pix of FF 2nd cousin :( :( :( TL:MECOOL: |
I always did UPS until I found out how much cheaper Fed Ex was. I'd estimate about 30% cheaper. I do a lot of Ebay stuff and on the big items it saves the cutomers some money.
