Besides the fact that I built one and love it (my FFR fiends call it the Caddilac of Cobras), I've been following Classic Roadsters since about 1989 - 1990.

Don Scott and Ed Combs (DV) were professional builders of CR Cobras and volunteered their time to represent CR on this site (whereas other manufacturers answered their own questions, and still do).

These guys suffered morally, as well as financially, with the trials and tribulations of CR the Company with the buyout and bankruptcy in '93, its new and unkept promises under the old/new ownership in '95, to its' purchase by Don in '03. They kept the faith because CR the Car is a solid product.

CR, the old company, along with CMC nearly compromised the entire Cobra replica industry making the word "backorder" a word to seek legal advice on (which many did). Guys (and builders) had thousands of dollars invested in uncompletable cars. Then the old/new guys take back over again (2 years later), and offer the parts you need to finish your car (parts you already paid for once) for sale at full retail price. Don Vancleve, CR's customer service guy would cut you a break on parts cost, but his hands were tied as to what he could do.

We all breathed a sigh of relief when Don Scott took over the helm of CR, lock, stock, and barrel. Now we have a real Captain at the helm (Don), and XO (DV) watching the flanks. These guys are determined to do it right, and the above testimony proves that they are.

We likely don't even know a miscule amount of the blood, sweat, tears, and midnight oil that went into the making of CRII but we do appreciate your efforts and results. A heartfelt Thanks.
