Can you provide a link to the eBay ad please Nedsel. |
Hmmmm.....seems to me, if he "recently" restored an original Cobra "...worth over $300,000" - he must have REALLY messed it up....'cause everywhere I look, you can't find ANY kind of "original Cobra" that still resembles an automobile (as opposed to a tag and a pile of twisted up aluminium), for less than $500,000!

My Dear Road-N-Air,
An aircraft salesman eh? That certainly explains your propensity for BS. As I stated in a previous thread, send me a personal message with an address and I will send you the letter and professional appraisal that I sent Daryl. Since I doubt you wiil do so, allow me quote from the appraisal. "Overall, there are a great number of below industry standards workmanship and craftmanship. Many poorly performed/built areas of the body and paint, needs many issues repaired. The manner in which this Cobra was built has diminished it's potential value" The appraised value? Between $20,500 and $21,000. This was after I had spent an additional $5000 to rebuild the engine (it was full of dirt and metal shavings) and get the car legal to drive. This brought my total investment in Daryl's "hancrafted creation" to in excess of $40,000. Regarding the "original Cobra" in Daryl's possession, it is indeed an original 289 "slab-side" Cobra. This car, per Daryl, belongs to an attorney friend/mentor of his. Why this man would trust Daryl to restore this valuable icon is beyond me. Since the cars Daryl built for Rich and me are worth half what we paid for them, I have to coclude that the same formula would apply to any Cobra that Daryl might attempt to restore. Perhaps you should stick to selling "Fear Jets" and "King-of-the-Airs", since your automobile expertise appears to be in doubt. |
Road-n-Air, please post some pictures of your car, it sounds like a thing of beauty and worth seeing some photos of.... please share.

Me thinks somebody got "hosed". Car sold Buy-it-now $29750

I looked at the pix on that ebay car and the glass work had a bunch of waves in it on the door and rear quarter. Not very good quality glass work at all. The carpeting looked substandard too with gaps at the edges. The ride stance is all wrong too. It's in the details that a replica appeals, and this one didn't. Road-n-Air seems to be cut from the same cloth as Holliday. Lot's of Flim 'n Flam.

He's Baaaack!!
I sold my "Holliday handcrafted creation" on Ebay last week for $21,000. That's what it appraised for so, although I had over $40,000 invested, I have a clear conscience. I have just been informed that Daryl Holliday is now advertising on Craigslist here In Houston. This man has absolutely no conscience or shame and as long as there are those who are uninformed and unaware he will stay in business.
