Must be looking to cut a deal with some 'greedy' person AFTER e-bay is over. And he just might pull it off too!

I sent the seller an email asking to be added to the 'pre-approval' list.. Here was the reply this am..

Hi ,
Before i can add you on my pre-approve list, i wanna let you know some details about this transaction.

The car will be shipped from Berlin, Germany & i will cover shipping fees. Since the car is shipped on a military cargo all you have to pay for this car is the BUY IT NOW price ($7.800) . Will be shipped over sea to NY, from there DHL will pick it up and you will receive it within 14 days tops.DHL will deliver the car at your door.
The car is in perfect working condition , no damage,no scratches or dents,no hidden defects, and it is as advertised. You can see more pictures of the car here: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/dolphi...?.dir=/a159re2 ,will be shipped with CLEAR US TITLE.
I work as a sergeant in the US army and i was deployed to work here in Berlin for a while. I've brought the car here with me 1 week ago so i can drive it during my free time but i found out that i have to pay a large amount of money to register the car here, because it was purchased and registered in US and Europe emission regulations are different from US ones.
I only go home once in 8 months, it's a shame to keep a car like this garaged for such a long time .
If you are interested, get back to me and I'll let you know the terms of this deal.
Thank you ,

The second classic feature of a scam e-bay sale, the car is out of the country and can't be seen.

blykins 02-07-2007 08:29 AM

I wonder how many people actually fall for this crap?

terry lee 02-07-2007 08:46 AM

I tried the link, and it is no longer on ebay.
It smells like a scam all the way to the trash can.
"pre-approved" and "out of the country" always a dead give away of a scam.

Screw with him... Tell him your brother who is a Cobra fanatic is stationed in Germany and would LOVE to see the car. You have cash... and can pay immediately.

See how he reacts!

Ramin:

Pass on the opportunity to buy, too good to be true, looks like selling prime pasture land with an ocean view in the middle of the Everglades. For the future, obtain some experience by visting the CT dealers, talking with other Cobra owners and as I mentioned on the other Thread, consider going to Carlisle for the Kit Car Nationals.

Also, too many variables, check out the possible future purchase in person, worth the price of the travel to save future cost and grief. If out of the immediate area, post a Thread and ask for assistance in the initial evaluation by a Cobra owner.
