To each their own. I shopped around a while and sat in several cars. One of the cars I sat in had the floor mounted pedals. I don't recall who the maker was but is was nice with knockoffs and Salisbury rear.

I'm 6'1" wearing 34x34 pants. I couldn't engage then disengage the clutch because my knee was catching the back of the dash.

Unless your 5'6" or less, Id go for driveability over authenticity?

I will reiterate my advice after a personal experience. First, accept that you do not sit in a Cobra, you wear it. I sat in many different manufacturers cars. In a Superformance with the seat at a comfortable pedal position the steering wheel was on my lap. The Shelby CSX "fit" perfectly.

My advice: From the major roller manufacturers, sit in one before you sign on the bottom line.

For any other car, especially a self-built kit, sit in THAT CAR!

You can end up with a car that doesn't fit and the tailor on the corner can't tuck in the seams to fix it.

Joyridin', My second cobra had floor mounted pedals and it didn't bother me at all. I thought they were kind of cool and liked that it was just another thing that made that car a little different. Hated selling that one.

Dennis,

I have Nick Acton's floor mounted pedal assembly in my Contemporary. I like it quite a bit. I'm in Houston (Kingwood) if you want to roll by and take a look. PM or email me if you want to make a time to roll by, you're more than welcome to.

Go Willwood, or better yet buy one from KMS or Drew Serb. That way you'll get the support you deserve on this.
