Storing a cobra

Hi, I'm looking at a very meticuloisy put together Contemporary Cobra.
If I do decide to purschase it unfortunatley I will have to put it in an unheated garage for the winter. Will this have any effect on the body?
Is there anything else besides a battery minder i should do?

I would like to start by saying storage is easy!

Here is what I do:
1) Top off fluids and grease points.
(Change oil 100% when it is pulled into garage to prevent acid attack internally)
2) Add gas stabalizer
3) Clean the car
4) Optional: Jack the car off wheels to let weight off springs and bearings etc. This requires 4 jack stands and a jack. Usually takes about 20 minutes or so and it makes it easy to get under the car for oil change.

That is it, the body will not suffer any effects from the cold. If you cover it check it often for mice. I open a box of moth balls and place it under the car as it keeps them away. By placing underneath the car, not in it, you will avoid moth ball smell next spring.

PS Unheated garage is preferable for inhibition of rust

Fresh oil in the crankcase, StaBil in the tank and carb, an extra 10 lbs. of air in the tires, put her in this bag with fresh desiccant and she comes out in the Spring just like the day you put her in.

What about snow tires and a heater? I thought they had a glass body because they salt the roads.............

With the heater blasting, the top up, and side curtains on you could bake even on cold, cold day. BUT, it's just not quite as nice as a low 70's day...

Thanks for all your help. I called the guy and am going up tomorow to buy the car and see when it can get delivered to me. Hopefully i'll get a few good days before the snow hits to have some fun. I'll post the ccx # as soon as i get it and some pics.

1) Make sure your anti-freeze is good.
2) Pour the recommended amount of fuel stabilizer in tank.
3) Some methyl hydrate in tank will help prevent moisture buildup.
4) Pour half a litre of Dexron II or III into crankcase. This will help clean out any sludge buildup.
5) Start engine and let warm up.
6) Remove air cleaner & pour Dexron down carb. Shut engine off.
7) Drain oil and remove filter.
8) Replace oil and filter.
9) I usually cover my car and put it up on stands for the winter.
10) I usually "click" over the engine occasionally to prevent compression damage to the valve springs. Do not start engine, as this will cause condensation in the crankcase. This condensation will combine with unburnt fuel and create a corrosive element which will eat away at your main bearings.
11) I also put the car on a battery tender.

Fill the fuel tank to the top. This will prevent condensation.

Hi, went up and paid for the car, now just waitng for the transporter to pick it up. Went for a ride in 20 degree weather and snow flurries!!!! but car rode excellent, no shakes or rattles and not to loud. It is a 428 with a mild cam and single 750 holley, my pics are to big will post others as soon as it arrives.
On the title it has ccx33526, is that correct or is that to many numbers?

I figured out how to put pics in my gallery so I posted some of the pics he sent me. Hopefully I'll hear today when the transporter can deliver the car to me. The detail list he faxed me on the car is 2 pages long. But some examples are, all non strctural bolts are sanded and polished stainless steel, aluminum engine panles buffed on hand made wooden bucks as to not warp them, custom made wiring harness system concealed along frame and run to terminal blocks, color coded matched ect ect I'm glad I found someone this picky about his cars since my wife and I have a baby due on the 19th and will only have time to go for rides and wax it.
