Simon:
Let me know if you become interested. Thanks, Mike |
Will do Mike.
I'm doing a roadtrip from Miami to TX (Mexican Border) and back up to Dallas, in September, along the Gulf of Mexico... Too bad Florence AL is so far from the coast... If any owners feel like meeting up, drop me a message |

Which puts another option out there, the McCluskey coupe is almost certainly more expensive than the aluminum CSX9000. |

I know of the McCluskey as a club member has one. The fit and finish are not to be believed. It is an exact continuation of the 6 originals as Shelby sold 24 VIN numbers to McCluskey years ago. I have seen a Superformance and the McCluskey side nby side. No comparison. Very expensive and I hope you are not in a hurry.

Simon, I stumbled upon a european website for a coupe a while back, cannot remember for the life of me which country, could have been France or Sweden I think, but not sure, the website was more of a build thread style & the car was along original design chassis/alloy body etc, & the guy was doing a very good job of it. Might be a one only & it could be from Chucks plans-dont know.... just another thought..

I chose the Superformance because I just like the shape of it best of all. I was thoroughly surprised how good the chassis works and how fast the car is with a 427 stroker. I was also somewhat taken by surprise how many details needed to be sorted on a perfect looking example! A year in I am still finding things that need to be modified, but I suppose I would want it any other way.

Hello All,
Let me preface my remarks with an apology to the moderators if my comments are out of place. I am faced with the possibility of having to sell my Coupe. My sister has been very ill for quite some time now and is rapidly approaching her lifetime max. medical insurance coverage. There is much more to this about which I won't bore you. It is a family moment of all hands on deck! Thus I have begun to wrack my brain with various ideas on how to raise funds. When faced with such situations, luxuries such as toys/cars fade in importance. I have not put the Coupe up for sale on any sites, including this one, but am trying to get a sense of interest and price. Clearly with winter setting in in most of the country, this is not the ideal season for selling such a vehicle and further, the economic anxiety continues. I have seen prices all over the place for SPF Coupes. There are a couple of photos of my coupe elsewhere in this thread. It is the white one with blue stripes. I have rambled enough. Any comments and/or thoughts are welcome. Best wishes to all for a safe, healthy, Happy Thanksgiving. Rick |
Hey Rick
Sorry to hear of your family situation. Having hunted for a coupe for well over a year, I learned a lot about them and prices. You should count on 70-75k, depending on the motor, miles and if you upgraded to glass rear window over the factory lexan. If I hadn't bought 136 this spring I would definitely help you out... Yell if you have questions/need advice. Jeff - SPC0136 |
Rick,
sorry to hear about your dilemma. Family comes first. I agree with Jeff on the pricing. Motor and color have more influence than chassis number/build year. Stephen |
Hello Jeff and Stephen,
Thank you for your kind words. I appreciate your insight. I am not looking to gouge on price and my thinking about $$$ was a little below your numbers. The car has been rock solid in reliability...amazing really. It has a 427 Roush, carbed. I like the color scheme, the old American Racing colors; white with blue stripes. The lexan window is crack free and thus I haven't purchased one of the glass or polycarbonate replacements. It has 6,500 miles and is legally registered in the state of confusion, uh I mean New York. Wishing you both a Happy Thanksgiving. Rick |
Rick,
I think your car looks great is that combination and 6500miles, clean and reliable, are probably the perfect numbers (run in and sorted, but not worn out). I would have bought it, if now looking. What´s on the NY registration? The Superformance Daytona is really hard to beat. Mine´s a keeper....but you may well have said the same at some point. You never know what life is going to throws at you, do you. Thanksgiving wishes gratefully returned, Stephen |
