Which Trans?

David:

I am having a Kirkham 427 built with a stroked Shelby BB. The car is mostly for twisty street driving. What transmission and rear end ratio would you recommend? Would you recommend a 5 speed to have the close gears plus OD, or would you stick with a top loader, and if so, which one?

I think we talked on the phone today. For the street I like 3.31 rear gears and a wide ratio toploader. Tons of fun.

Is there much weight difference between a top loader and a tremac?

Toploader #100, Tremec TKO #100.
The weight savings in the aluminum case is added back by the fifth gear.
