See you there
I will be coming down on Saturday the 13th. I live 40 minutes North of McDonough so I will not be staying at the hotel. Can't wait to see everyone.
|
I'll be there!
I'll arrive Friday, and leave Sunday morning.
Looking forward to it! |
OKay...Okay Captian Dan.
I'll be there! I mostly hang out "over there" and don't visit "here" so often. Hummm...I'll probably arrive Saturday morning (since we're only about 180 miles away) and stay through Sunday. Looks like we're going to have a record event. I only hope it doesn't Flood and Blow Up electrical transformers like last year in Florida. I'll be sure to bring my favorite flash light! (OK, Creamcicle Rick and Paul Brannon, step up to the plate!) Mike FFR 2335 2nd Place SCCA :3DSMILE: |
C'mon, folks.
As of 8:40 AM this morning, there were still 18 rooms left. We started with 25, so that means that only 7 rooms have been reserved. I know that some of you will be driving from nearby, and that at least a couple of people have contacted me to say they can't make it. But I know that there are a lot more out there who will need to book a room. Please do so at your earliest convenience and post here to let me know. Make those reservations if you can! :) KM |
Behold... the dash plaques for the 2002 DSCC Weekend are ready! Our hats are off to Dan for acquiring these. Proceeds from the sale of the plaques will go into the club's treasury. I think they look great!
Keith |
Keith, thanks for the kind words on the plaque. Now all we need is to have everyone make their reservations so I know I won't get stuck with these plaques. Time is running a lot faster than you think only 5 months to go and, when we started we had over a year to plan.
Dan |
OK, OK, I complied
Booked a room for Friday night (so I can party and not have to worry about a one hour drive home) and will commute if there is a Sunday event. Keith, I recommend doing a formal agenda at some point (i.e start times of dinner, show and shine, etc.)

Make your Hotel reservations NOW
Mike,
Our President Jerry, is working on somethings for the entire weekend. He said he would have most of the commitments up and ready for this month of November so we could post them. We should have a full weekend starting at about noon Friday through late Sunday when we will start planning for 2003. With everyone in attendance the input should be great. It just makes it a lot eaiser if we have an idea of how many of our members will be in attendance. Plan your vaction now for the Deep South Cobra Club weekend, a full 3 days of Cobras. Even if you are still only an enthusiast what better time to see and talk with other Cobra nuts. Dan |
Dan - You're welcome! What was the agreed the price for the plaques? I couldn't remember and I didn't wanna post the wrong number!
Mike - Thanks for making the reservation! I'm waiting for a few more things to be finalized before I generate the final agenda. Some things are going on "behind the scenes" at the moment. I'll put it this way, if all the plans work out, the event will definitely be worthwhile EVERY day... not just Saturday. Dan is correct when he says that the event will be a FULL three days. And you won't have to own a Cobra to benefit from the event. It is our goal to not only cater to those who own Cobras, but to those who would simply like to own one. More details to follow! Keith |
Soon, now, Soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Right you are friends. Keep those dates open, this is going to be as good as Spring Fling or else:3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:

Can't Wait
Keith-
Don't forget to have your talk with the weather gods before April. David:D  |
I'll have to sacrifice a lamb or sheep or something to the weather gods. Don't tell Jamo! :3DSMILE:
I have a list at home (in Excel, of course) of more than 100 possible vanity plates for a Cobra. One of my favorites is PRA4SUN. Unfortunately, I have created a dangerous precedent with the recent monthly luncheons and sunny weather. I'll probably let someone else plan the December gathering, that way the weather will (most likely) be bad and it'll all be blamed on the fact that I didn't plan it  . Of course if it rains on our weekend in April, I know who'll get the blame! %/ Keith |
CobraDan had sent me the link to this event. A couple of points stand out: Keith, great job putting this together! As for dyno's in the area, there are a couple, one is Atlanta Chassis Dyno in Duluth Ga, another is DynoLab in Marietta Ga. There is 0ne in Chamblee Ga (no so good neighborhood...) but all are quite a good distance from McDonough. A mobile Dyno is a good idea but quite costly, especially when you figure in their travel. I've gotten about this [] close to using Werks Performance in Charlotte who has a mobile unit but for my last event I couldn't risk the funds at the time. As for racing, I've used Silver Dollar Raceway (great 1/4 mile)in Reynolds Ga for the past 5 years with my old car clubs events. I'm not sure if they have an open date April 12-14 but if interested I'd be happy to make a call or two. I was on the phone earlier with the owner (Ed Swearington) to finalize my old clubs spring and fall events for 2002 and he is a really great guy. I believe that Reynolds is about 1.5 hours drive time from McDonough and half of that is on some very pretty roads.
Don't ge discouraged on the amount of reservations this far out, Most can't/wont make a decision until 2 months out, some not until the week prior. I havn't seen a registration page yet for the event but I would like to add my name to it if available, simply show me the way. Thanks for the time, it looks like April 12-14 is going to be a lot of fun (too bad my car won't be ready until ~sept/oct... |
Keith,
We don't really have anyplace to register other than at the motel if you need a room. http://www.sixcontinentshotels.com/h...anchisee=MCDGA Dan |
