ATTN: Jerry Rowley....
Yo...Jerr-eeeeeeeee! How are ya? Lookin' forward to seein' everyone in Atlanta next month, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
I've just ordered some 'vintage-car' logo'd items from Cobra Promotions, and in my email discussions with the owner, he asked is DSCC would be interested in doing some bid-ness with his company. Take a look at his stuff under the heading "Club Cobra Embroidered Garments Now Available Online", on All Cobra Talk, or click this link... Club Cobra Embroidered Garments Now Available On-line!
His stuff looks good...I ordered a Hat, shirt and jacket with the 'SnakeEyes' logo. I'd like to see if we could do something with him for DSCC logo merchandise. Sure would look nice....I've sent him a copy of our logo to see if it's something his machines could do.
Go to his website, click around on it and let me know if this is something we may be interested in. Looks pretty cool to me....

Freddie- we do have some embroidered shirts available. We also have some hats. I have been reluctant to pursue doing these as a club venture since we don't collect dues and only have one overall annual meeting. Our only treasurery is what has been left in the kitty from unused track deposits. We have been saving those to support the "racing aspect" of the club, since that's what generated the few dollars we have.
I'm certainly not against anyone "going it alone" to provide these items. I did this on window stickers and Cobra Dan did this on our dash palques for the annual meeting this year. We have Captian Jack Flanders that has done this with DSCC logo hats and shirts.
The hats are nice for $15/each, and the shirts are blue faded denim with the logo embroidered on the front pocket area at $30/each. For $50/each, you can have a giant cobra (your choice of color) on the back too (very nice item!). I should put these on the club web site, I suppose to show them off.
You can contact Jack at captainjack@cyou.com and I'm sure he can fix you up with some neat stuff. His source is a local woman near Baker, FL that has a computerized embroidery machine and is pretty reasonable (like in VERY). Custom items can be done on a onsey-twosey basis also at reasonable prices through Jack.
I'm sure you know we have some club tee-shirts available at the meeting in McDonough in April. Any left may be purchased after the meeting from Southern Auto who got them for us. The club is making a small amount on these shirts.

More on Cobra Promotions....
I spoke with Phil Manro via email the other day, Jerry, and he said we didn't have to 'buy' anything in bulk. He's willing to provide some web space for us where he would list pictures of our logo on his shirts, etc. Each individual person would be responsible for 'clearing their tab' when they purchased the merchandise from Phil. All he needs is our interest and a copy of our logo, which I've already forwarded to him to see what he could do for us.
I would assume the prices would be similar to those he's already quoted on CC, but I'm not sure.
So, basically, from what I understand, this is a no risk, no cost opportunity for us. Any interest?
I plan on buying a couple of shirts at the McDonough event next month, as well as a hat, if they're still available.
Let me know if you're interested in pursuing Phil's offer.

Fred,
Since we are such a short time away from our April outting, this is one of the many things we should talk about. I had a jacket made with a picture of a large Cobra on the back in the colors of my actual Cobra. Jerry saw this when we were in Ohio at DVSFI. Getting them to do our DSCC logo has a one time fee to put it into computer lingo, then you are only paying for the stich work. I will bring my jacket in less than 3 weeks. Lets do this at our meeting so we can have everyones input.

This is still an Open Item...
I was a little disappointed this was not taken up at our annual meeting, but was referred back to the internet for resolution. This should have been put before the membership for approval, in my opinion, as I tried to do.
Dan...please contact me via private email to get the details on the offer from Cobra Promotions. Bottom line is that Phil's work is very good, reasonably priced, he's willing to host a webpage to display DSCC merchandise, and the overall price of his merchandise is less than your resource in Florida.
We now have the funding to pay for digitizing our DSCC emblem for shirts, hats, jackets, etc. This is not a generic Cobra likeness, but our emblem, which is more closely identified with our club.
