Thumbs up Let's make some plans

A Poker Run is not a race. It's a game of chance and an assembly of some of the hottest, fastest and most exotic Cobras. Even before the actual event begins, you can sense the burning fever of anticipation. Like all true blue Cobra enthusiasts, Poker Runners are itching to head out on the open road. Sure they love the attentions of wide-eyed performance fans fawning like love-struck children over their sleek, super-fast Cobras. Sure, they listen carefully to important details outlining proper conduct, safety and rules of the road at the driver's meeting. But, like a pride of lions ready to prowl, Poker Runners are rarin' to unleash raw horsepower.
A Poker Run is fun on the road with power to burn. It's a few glorious hours of performance Cobra driving at its finest, a chance to renew old acquaintances and make new friends. Each participating Cobra driver carefully charts the course, stopping at five checkpoints along the route to pick up a sealed envelope containing a single playing card. At the final checkpoint, the envelopes are opened and the driver holding the best poker hand is declared the winner!

Signing on for a Poker Run also means being part of a well-organized, activity-oriented, fun-filled safe event. Naturally, it helps to have a great road course, but equally as important are the card stops and special hosts that cater to Poker Runners throughout the run.

Poker Runs are events for the entire family. At each of the five checkpoints, host members would provide a card for each player and then continue on with the group to the next location. So mark your calendars today for August 10th, and be sure to capture the spine-tingling thrills of taking part in a Poker Run for our next outing in your area. All we need is five members located at their home or someplace where we could have a card stop. The largest group would start at point 1., picking up their first card and then continuing on to the next stop, also bringing enough cards along for the other players that we would pick up at the additional locations. Actually point 1., and point 5., could be the same location, this way ending back at the starting point. At the other three locations you could leave a family member home to pass out the cards so you could run the entire course. The winner of the best poker hand would receive a prize of some sort.
I hope I made this sound interesting enough for you to come and help us plan future gathers of the Floridian section of the Deep South Cobra Club.
Dan
