Sorry I missed you at the track, TC. We started out at 7:30am with Bloody Mary's and egg-Mcmuffins, then graduated to canned beverages and grilled dogs and burgers. We hung around until 10-'ish' pm... I saw that I missed a call or two later..but didn't think anyone wanted to hear from me at 11!!..not even the wife...:LOL:
Catch you on the 19th. Did we decide on 1pm? That works for heading north to Canton if that's the plan... p.s. Keith...nice ride... was it raining... didn't notice!!;) |
Guys;
Sounds like a plan for a 1:00PM meet at Dreamland on Saturday---a casual lunch, then head up 140 to Canton for the Po Boys car show. Looking forward to it, sans rain, and about 65 degrees. See you there, and also want to see the Keith's brilliant red machine. Should be a fun, and since this is the last scheduled event Po Boys this year, let's hope the weather cooperates this time!! BigEasy |
TC;
One other detail---will be driving the SPF, or the new Hiboy? btw, is that old Ford finished, or in process? BigEasy |
Where exactly is Dreamland Bar B Q?
|
Dreamland is just north of Holcomb Bridge and on the left side of route 9 if headed northbound. It is south of Mansell.
I may take SPF to lunch and GT-350 to show. Forecast looks good FOR ONCE!! Bring jackets if going to the show however. I am in DC for three days ducking for cover :mad: %/ |
TC...better keep your head down!! :eek:
Saturday, I plan to wear a raincoat and bring an umbrella....just to make sure it won't rain!!!;) See you at Dreamland...I'll be in the red(neck) GMC truck! |
Just got back from San Fran. 1pm at Dreamland sounds good. Got a tarpolin in case of a shower.
|
Guys;
Weather forecast for Saturday looks great as of today. Soooo, how many do we have showing up at DtreamLand BBQ, then on to Canton? Keith---I assume you will be there? What's the latest headcount? BigEasy |
Hey y'all. I'm ALIVE!! You guys have no idea what this pinhead with a rifle has done to the beltway. He deserves to eat his own .223 hollow point.
Keith, how's the motor? I re-read your post. When Bill comes running out and he isn't smiling--isn't that striking?? If my damn work schedule allows, I will be visiting SAE next week. It's time to talk motor mounts and tranny!! Many of you now have my cell # via private mail. Let me tell you how I feel about my cell phone--I hate the freakin thing. Only use it to get ahold of me if you know I am expecting calls--i.e. on the day of a meet. I can tell you I stick this thing in a garbage can on a regular basis. You have been warned. Otherwise, get creative if you really need me. |
I am glad to see that the weather will finally cooperate. I am planning to meet you guys for lunch at 1:00 but will not be able to follow you guys to Canton. Homecoming at the High School and the kids want me to bring the car for a photo session.
C U there. Hector |
No spark-replacing coil etc. cb

Hey guys!. I'm starting to come up for air with this new job but expect to be underwater again for awhile starting next Tuesday. Haven't run it past the boss (who ain't too happy with my work travel lately) but I'll try to meet you at DL on Satuday. I won't be heading to Canton, so if you don't see me at DL then the boss said "not only no, but hell no"
|
Tell her we are presenting you with an award at lunch ;)
|
For everyone who showed up at Dream Land, what a great idea. The weather was fantastic. TC, I think your rain-curse has been broken. Let me know how the Canton show went.

Faces to Names
It was great meeting you guys and the ladies as well. I hope to be driving my own at the next one. T.C. offered to push his junk cars out of the dream car garage so chill and I can have a nice place to build our Uniques. What a guy!
The only bummer of the day was following the thumping Cobras in my Pathfinder. Randy |
Definitely a good day. A good group at Dreamland...and something different for recent luncheons...Cobras!! After lunch and briefly checking out TC's 'garage-mahal', Alex, Charlie, and TC went up to Canton, and I went north to pick up the family and rolled up to Canton in time to see TC and Alex on their way out. (takes the family a while to motivate:rolleyes: )
Turnout was great in Canton with perfect weather, and a reported 350+ cars in attendance. ... time to get the Weavers on the phone and get busy so we can be ready for spring!!! |
Twas a beautiful day FINALLY. My kids were nagging mt to go home, which I had to do anyway for a dinner party we were hosting. BigEasy, sorry we split without a goodbye. Alex followed me home, and it was probably a good time for him to leave as well since he had a good ride ahead of him.
Cars were stilling pouring into the parking lot at the car show at a rate of about 3-4/minute when we left around 5:30ish. As I noted before, there is some great variety at this event. I was a little disappointed in the small showing of vintage street rods, but they may have arrived later. Two guys unloaded there Street Comp Drag Cars and fired them up!! There were some REAL sweet Big Block Chevies/Fords/Mopars there. Georgiasnake--I meant the OTHER garage :LOL: I just noticed I have 427 posts---hmmmmmm. |
We enjoyed meeting everyone Sat at the DL. Thanx TC for letting us park at your house and especially drooling over your 'toy house'. Deborah is alittle worried I saw that. Maybe we can all get together in Nov some time. 5 Seasons would be a good spot. They will let you bring your dog if you sit outside. Its the old Fridays location at the Prado just inside 285 on Roswell road. Let me know what you think. adonghi@leaseplan.com

A November date sounds good to me. Will the "5 Seasons" let me bring my pet goat as well if I sit outside?

Sounds like you guys had a great time. Man, I really wish I could've made it. Hope y'all had fun. I will look forward to making next month's gathering.
As it was, Elizabeth and I did go out in the Cobra on Saturday. We drove about an hour south of home to the Congaree Swamp National Monument. It's a beautiful wetlands reserve with raised boardwalks throughout which allows for nice nature hikes. And here's the best part: it's free (we're so damned cheap). Cruising through the backroads in the Cobra on a warm, sunny day was a real treat. Stopped at a gas station near I-20 to fill up before the trip. I went inside to pay while my wife stayed in the car. No fewer than 3 people asked her about the car while I was away. I took it out again last night for a quick drive through town... probably no more than 30 miles round-trip. I picked up my neighbor down the road (who owns a '65 fastback himself) to take him along. We had fun. Kept it below 55 the whole time. My odometer reads more than 1500 miles now. What? No photos of Saturday's gathering? Keith :) |
