Hotel Change for Reptile Roundup
OK guys,
First my apologies.
The Holiday Inn is giving me fits trying to secure a discounted rate for
the Roundup.
So, in return for their generosity, I'm asking that you all change your
reservations to the Sleep Inn.
Rate is LOCKED in at $45.00 per night.
I called them this morning and verified that the rate was still good.
Call and ask for the "Reptile Roundup rate".
(813) 973-1665
If you have made reservations at the Holiday Inn, please cancel them.
I will delete the Holiday Inn info from the web page.
I appreciate your help in this manner and I'm sorry for the confusion.
Ed

I'm already locked into the Sleep Inn at $45 per night. With the money savings we can purchase more beer. Please change to Sleep Inn and join the crowd.

Ed/Dan,
I sent you both an e-mail regarding the $45 "established" rate at the Sleep Inn, but I thought I'd post this for the benefit of others who haven't made reservations yet. I called the Wesley Chapel Sleep Inn this morning and the guy I spoke to told me his supervisor informed him last night that the rate is actually $49. I don't know why these guys can't honor an agreement, but I don't care for that kind of bait and switch nonsense. Not that $49 is a bad deal, I just like the $45 deal that Dan got and I can't stand the thought of him getting a better deal than me.....

I'm working on our annual meeting for next year and will have to sign a contract to get the price quoted. We will be discussing this in Lutz.

Just for your info the rate is now $53.10 and rising oh well at least I can get points for this.
I hate hotels.
Ed could you contact whoever set up the $45 rate and ask why they are not honoring it?
did I mention I hate hotels?

Ruble,
When you set up a rate there is a normal cut off time to make reservations. When I set up our annual meeting the cut off date will be 2 weeks before the event, this gives the Motel a chance to rent out the rooms they where holding for us. Procrastinators loose out. DVSFIII has 3 Motels and 2 motels are already full, if we could be so lucky. I made my reservations over 2 weeks ago.

Dan
I appreciate your candor but when I called they claimed that only one person got the $45 rate and that was a mistake. Mike was charged $49 and I was told $53.10.
I stay on average 120 to 150 nights per year in a hotel so I think I know a thing or two about how some operate. The Hampton Inn in Gainesville honored their rate to everyone but the Sleep Inn is not. Guess I should just bow to your knowledge of great business practices.

Both the Holiday Inn and the Sleep Inn gave Ed a lower price and didn't honor it. We have both stayed in many motels but we don't usually have someone set up a group rate for us. Beleave me we are going to discuss this in Lutz. One thing I don't like is the old bate and switch method of business.

I plan to bait and switch on them as I have enough points for a free room but I might save them for a higher priced room on a beach.

OK, I got the hotel sorted out last week.
Please speak to Juan.
He will give you the $45.00 rate.
I will "Personally" visit the hotel Friday night and speak to the hotel manager.
I'll do what I can to make sure you guys are given the rate previously discussed.
Sorry for the problems.
Ed
