Southern Automotive

We didn't get much time to talk Saturday, but from reading the thread, you can see that Bill is well respected, and justifiably so. I was there when he was working on Tony's car and you just don't find that kind of 'ownership' and support nowadays after the sale. Important to note for anyone who does not know, Tony's problem wasn't even Bill's fault....even more special that he jumped in and fixed it, no questions...a few comments;) , but no questions.

In researching, I got information on York, Engine Factory(interesting and educational video tape if you want to see it) and several others, Wells Racing, Walker, Ford crate engines, Jasper.... alot of really good craftsmanship out there, but for my money, Southern's the way to go.

There are alot of good engine builders out there, and one of the best is local.

p.s Give Susan my condolences about her loss.

Comfort Level

I agree with chill - I sleep well knowing that Bill and his guy's are putting my motor together. Same goes for the Weavers and the car they are building for me. Does it get any better than this?

Southern Engines Visit

You guys were right, Bill Parham was quite a guy. Very knowledgable and did not mind sharing a few of his opinions either. I went down there with what I wanted in mind and now I feel as if I have been lobotomized. My head is spinning with all the info. Now I am waffling whether I want a big block or not. Now I am looking strongly at a 406 toploader. And by the way, thanks for NOT telling me he was going to take me out for a drive. Just your ordinary, short, 110mph white knuckle scare you like hell but show you what a Cobra can do ride. Now that I am initiated, anything else I should know about?;)

The Ride

You are required to be initiated (the ride) before Bill will consider building you anything

If your car is a 427 SC you should go bb, ask Jason about his. It is a bullit proof power house.

Drop me an email with a phone number, I live right down the street from you on New Providence Rd.
