Dr_lopez 06-19-2003 08:52 AM

I just knew you were going to say that Flanker!!!By the way, wait till you see my new helmet.....
Don't worry Ed, Flanker will make sure I don't ***** foot around the track...
Mike, miss you too, and what's a party without Manny. Mike you gotta come come down to our Cobra Poker Run to Key West. I promise you so many laughs we'll leave you in tears for the whole weekend, you'll love it!!!
Cya guys real soon

Engineer Ed 06-19-2003 08:55 AM

Doc,
Did you get a SA rated halmet?
I just had to buy a new one myself.
The SA rated helmet has roll bar impact testing and fire retardant material.
The motorcycle or M rated helmets are not permitted at the faster tracks.

Gainesvilel does not require the SA halmets at this time.

Ed

Dr_lopez 06-19-2003 09:52 AM

Ed, yes I did. They even cost more! Such is the price you pay when you play!!!!!! And we can play......
Can't wait.
Speaking of playing, Flanker are you showing up June 29th for the Metro Zoo autoX ? The last time your mommy made you cut the grass around the house and you couldn't come out to play with us. All the guys that kicked butt at the Mazda Rev-it-up will be there too. I hope we can get a nice group of Cobras again, they really loved having us there...

Driving instructors

Hey Ed,
The guys at Sebring were SCCA drivers, and Carol has the name of her instructor. We might be able to get in touch with him and he could get some of his pals to help out. Or, we could go direct to the SCCA. Either way, I think a great idea if we can get some professional help at little or no cost. I don't know if SVTOA paid for their help. I'll try to contact Steeda and find out what they did and how they got them.

We look forward to meeting them and seeing thier product.

November is quickly arriving. Lots of work to do.

Backdraft 06-27-2003 11:14 PM

Hi there,

We may be able to help with an experienced driver. Tony Martin one of the members of the Backdraft Team was a winner of the Daytona 24hr in the 80's. I should be able to get him out here in November and I am sure he would be willing to help. I think we still have enough time to prepare a special car for the event for anybody who would like to experience a roadster with a world class driver behind the wheel. If this sounds interesting let me know and I will see if we can get him out here.

Regards Reg

Dream Master 06-28-2003 03:14 PM

Jeez,
Would sure like to come play with you guys, but looks like it will be tough, as we are also going to Daytona for the Turkey run, and I have a race close to home here on the 16th. Maybe some other time.

Have fun and be safe,

Doug Reed, Reed Performance Motorsports
Superformance distributor

Engineer Ed 07-15-2003 11:08 AM

Hope you can make it.
This years event should be huge!
We've got quite a few manufacturers that will be present and nice raffle items, racing, Big Daddy, etc....

We hope to see you there.

Ed

CobraDan 07-15-2003 11:14 AM

Sure you will probably have this one without rain in the dry season and I can't make it. I'll try and look up some Cobras in Vegas. Ham might be able to bring along some Hooters girls just to brighten up the activities.
Dan

Engineer Ed 07-15-2003 11:18 AM

Ham knows hooters girls....???
Why is he withholding this important information???

Hooters are a necessity!!! :D

Ed

CobraDan 07-15-2003 11:34 AM

Ham sent me some pictures of a Cobra gathering close to his home and a picture of his Cobra with Hooters girls all over it. I never did see his Cobra.
Dan

Dr_lopez 07-15-2003 05:31 PM

He's not the only one that knows Hooters girls, Manny had FIVE in his BDR...Let's ask if he can bring some!!!

Dan, can't believe your gonna miss this one!!!

EarlsflyinCobra 07-17-2003 10:32 PM

What is the October Event??

I see in a couple of posts guys referring to an October event. What and where is it??

Thanks, and Safe Flyin, Earl

ooooppps....that's Drivin

David Niblett 07-18-2003 03:39 AM

Earl,

The Oct event you are reading about is a racing event on Oct 18 I believe. Refer to the "Latest Gainesville track dates" thread. I almost missed it to, I thought the message board put the latest updates on top. Looks like I've missed quite a bit.

This will be for those of us that have no fear in breaking our cars on the track or the peer pressure you get when you oil the track and make the others wait an hour for their turn.

Unless the rules have changed, club members racing or not are most certainly welcome. We ALWAYS need more people so it seems. We can always use corner workers and time keepers.

Even if we can't fit your car into the lineup, come on up and I'm sure that you can get a ride with someone.

Hope to see you there.

CobraDan 07-18-2003 04:38 AM

Dr_Lopez,
Ham wins because the picture he sent me had 6 Hooters girls, plus Manny never sent me any pictures. You know I would be at the Reptile Roundup( RAIN or :MECOOL: shine ) but the Vegas trip was up and running before Ed picked his dates. Maybe in Vegas I can find some topless Hooter girls to attend our major events:LOL:
Dan
