Ed,
Do you mean Mikes boat??
Dan

Engineer Ed 10-18-2004 11:20 AM

No, my new Blue with White striped boat.
Damn thing doesnt float worth a #!@$

The folks at the track who took photos know what I'm talking about.
I honestly thought they would be on the forum by now.
Hell, Jim Pomroy knew all about it before noon on Saturday.
Bad news travels fast.....

OK, where are they? I'm ready to eat crow.

It hasn't rained much in the past month but everytime you guys go out someone winds up off course or in a pond. Maybe the club should look for a new course with a six lane wide highway and a guard rail.
Dan

Engineer Ed 10-18-2004 12:16 PM

No guard rail...
That would have been worse.
Only small crack to the shell.... lower portion of the nose, can barely see it. Pushed the aluminum in the fender wells backwards and tore some rubber weatherstrip.
Minor damage what I can live with.
I'm just upset that I didn't catch any fish! :D

I thought of a good name for your boat......swift

Mike I 10-18-2004 01:17 PM

Ed, or should I call you Admiral,

Kay Wells took a whole gaggle of photos....I've seen them and they are spectacular.....they will be posted shortly on the First Coast Cobra Club website.....

Glad you didn't do any major damage to your car, but I'm afraid your racer reputation took a huge hit......hope Ruble doesn't hear about it.....;)

Btw, Kay printed up a large glossy of you standing in your new boat and I believe she is mailing it your way!! :3DSMILE:

Thanks Mike,
Gainesville should thank me for "de-weeding" that section of the pond.
Scheeesh, can you believe it?

At least I can laugh about it.
I'm thankful for that.
Still have a car for the Roundup!

Cheers,
Ed

Mike I 10-18-2004 01:49 PM

Ed,

You were truly a good sport about it....I think Reg was more upset than you were since all attention was drawn away from the winged thing and he had to head back to the pit area....

Some day, some where, some one is going to cross paths with an alligator that has a flattened patch across it's back roughly the width of one of your slicks......I can feel it in my bones.....:3DSMILE:

Mike I 10-18-2004 01:54 PM

Ed, the photos are up....click on the link to our site.....

CobraDan 10-18-2004 02:03 PM

Hey Ed, I have never seen a Cobra Bass Boat?? Ever think about Pole Holders and a Depth Finder??

Engineer Ed 10-19-2004 06:04 AM

And the damn bass weren't biting!
:D

Thanks for posting the photo's.
Ed

Gasman 10-19-2004 11:04 AM

Ed, You have a great sense of humor. Glad no major damage was done.

David Niblett 10-24-2004 01:57 PM

I wonder if we will see a repeat performance of 'ol Captain 'Peg Leg' Kamptner.

I did check for you Ed and I think you are safe. Since the track
won't allow passengers, you technically won't be required to
get a Captain's License.

Turk 10-25-2004 12:24 PM

Safety...Safety...Safety..

I don't see any life vests in that photo.
