Tracks in Florida
Greetings. I'm doing my initial research on places to drive a Cobra in Florida .. tracks to get a good feel for the car. As to the car .. I'm looking to buy my 1st. Cobra .. and I'm presently looking at a used Unique 289 FIA. Low miles, 302 roller tappet high output engine with 600 CFM Holley and Edelbrock RPM Performer intake manifold, and a Ford T-5 five speed trans. I've been longing for a 289 since I saw the first road test reports in R&T back in the 60's. I live in Miami so we don't have the nice rolling hills and twisting country roads that a lot of people have access to. I've seen mention of Gainesville track events. What do they consist of? Cost? Any other (closer to Miami) road course activities? All comments, tips, recommendations and advice appreciated. I'm presently at the "shoot .. we only have a 1 car garage .. and I need to move my reloading bench" stage. Hope to have the garage ready in a week and to have the car in 2-3 weeks.
Thanks in advance.
