Brilliant !
Bring some of that to the beach ! (humor). |
Finally, we hear from Johnny O.
I thought you forgot about us.... Only one point for passing me..... damn, I feel so cheap. Well, you are going to work awfully hard for that one point. Is it Friday yet? One more day to get prepared.... "See you at the track". Ed |
NUMBERS:
If anyone needs to put numbers on your car and you think you'll be figuring it out when you get there, I can print some for you. Just PM me and I'll print out an 11x17 sheet of paper with big ole 10" numbers that you can then tape to your car. It's a step up from building individual numbers with masking tape at the event. You can pick them up at the McMichael Motorsport trailer late Friday. |
Mike I just went thru the numberless folks and we will need about 20 sets. Start at 151 and run thru170 and that should cover numers if we we need them Thanks. I have plenty of racing tape.....
Rob |
OK! I have 101-106, 151-170 and an 00 for Randy and 516 for Blynes. We will need lots of "racing" tape. **)

Rev Trouble, your closet is ready did I mention the bed was antique, designed when the median adult male was 5 4 think fetal position, and save your perverse acts until you get home. As to electricity, we have a little today, running about 80 cycles per minute, but occasional 300 volt spikes really light up the stereo. Lost the new race car in the yard, but should find it when you finish cutting the grass. Looks OK on the food front plenty of wine, the local shrimper said his boat will bring in fresh tomorrow afternoon, boiled peanuts are fine, and we will try to dip a few crabs out of the river prior to your arrival. May want to meet us at the track as I plan to unload about 4, otherwise go out to the dock and we will show up eventually

I don't know what is more exciting - the track time or the Dr. time. I'm an expert crabber - many, many hours as a youth harvesting food for the family.
I sleep in the fetal position so all is well. The power spikes may give my supercharger a boost:p Cut a path in the grass the catalytic converter will be hot. I'll ring you up as I start slowing and desending around Metter. R.T. |
Checking in for the last time....
Finally, all packed and ready to head North to Savannah. Ed |
JOHAN - YOU DA MAN!
They say the eskimos have over 50 words for snow.......I now have over 50 words for rain, most of which are not new and can not be repeated here ;) That said - car and I are home in good shape.
Johan - my sincere thanks and gratitude for such a great event. I can truly say that your hospitality has exceeded any I've ever received! And special thanks for........ 1. Covering the cobra - Lola has her Big Mac wrapper back on. That was very thoughtful of you. 2. Great steaks, tails, and turkey! 3. Letting my children play with yours - that was the highlight of their trip 4. My first track outing. Couldn't think of a better way to start learning the ropes. 5. You humor and entertainment at the drivers meetings - I will always remember the "BF Goodrich TAs that your father gave you when you were 16" line and "the cat" story. Also thanks to Rob Ginn for the coaching, a place to hang out, and his typically friendliness and class! Sorry I had to leave you in the dust :D And, thanks to DSCC for the Friday night party and all the fun. You guys are great! Looking forward to my first Reptile Round Up! Looking forward to Willis' 5th birthday! Scott |

That "BFG" line was a classic and I bet all the Pooler area Chinese restaurants were checking their inventory for a winner after Johan posted his reward for lost Pu$$y Cat. I only managed to burn out some rear bearings or maybe that was my butt making all those strange noises. Johan thanks for the big crawdad tails, yard bird and dead cow. That dusty old beer was not too bad either. Hope to attend many more birthday bashes at Roebling. Johan thanks for the big Crawdad tails, Yard bird and dead cow. mo' thanks
Johan, from everybody a BIG THANK YOU!! We had a great time and your hospitality was, as always, the best. It was great to see some old friends and so many great cars.
HSSS427, I believe you quit first! I guess I was getting too close huh? Just kidding ...I'm glad you made it back ok the rain was a bit heavy at times. I'll eventually dry out. Great time...... Rob |
What a fantastic time was had by all! Great host and a pleasure being a part of the Willis party. As my times improved on each run and flying down the straight at over 130 my enjoyment kept building. Even getting black flagged didnt hurt that much!!!! The car needed to cool down a little anyway. What a great bunch of guys to listen and learn from. Thanks for a great event.

Johan, Katherine, Willis and Daisy-
Thank you all so much fo allowing me and my family to join in the celebration. As always, we had many memorable experiences and enjoyed the company of a diverse but always friendly crowd. A great time not dampende one bit by the deluge. Everyone has their tails of mechanical snafu's and ours was on the tow home when the turbo on our F250 died just before hwy 278 on 95--we were bairly able to limp into the truck stop. This is the same new 250 that had a new motor put inless than 900 miles ago after the first turbo hand-grenaded. Since the first turbo blew when a friend had borrowed the truck I figured he should send his truck to rescue us and he did. To repay him I returned his truck with a shattered windshield courtesy of the dump truck in front of us so the saga continues. Moral: Friends don't let friends drive their Fords. The bar has been raised, great driving this year--seems that we are all learning and improving. Thanks to all, Rick, Erik and Adam Brownyard |
Johan GREAT what else can I say. I was actually glad to see the reprieve for rain on Saturday as I was worn down to bloody stumps trying to get something ready to drive, finish work, and other useless stuff. My sons stepped up to help and I thank them also Dave thanks for taking my youngest out. GS you were an entertaining guest and a terrific track partner. Thanks also to the lady in the yellow Porsche for pointing out the line, and the 00 Cobra for some fun at the end. Next year, if you are foolhardy enough to do this again, I will plan better and make the HH party and the DSCC parking lot event, may even have a Cobra for the track. The drive home in Yard Dog my yellow Cobra was a battle with the elements - rain all the way loss of traction twice on water almost one inch of the stuff in the floorboards visibility down to 20 at times so it goes. End of the story more than enough track time and smiles

Johan,
You have again surpassed our expectations for a spectacular event. We dont know how to thank you for your hospitality, kindness and for allowing us to join you in celebrating your sons birthday. We can only hope to be invited back for future Willis events. The Cobra and I both came back in one piece so despite the rain it was a perfect weekend. The DSCC Racing gang is used to getting wet anyway. Joining the "Purple" group and participating in the unscheduled "NOT" race was well worth the long WET trip back to Tampa. On behalf of all the DSCC guys: THANK YOU. Ed |
Johan
Thanks for a spectacular event. Great food, great friends and great cars. I can't think of anyplace I would have rather been. I hope you enjoyed it as much as us. |
