Willis Video
http://www.cobrauniversity.com/video...ing_June05.wmv
Thanks to Stephen Johnstone for putting this video together for us. Ed |
Great footage & thank you very much. There's one thing I want to complain about. I have never understood why people add music to car video's, television shows ect. when most of us want to hear the engines ! It does not make sence to me. Why ruin that perfectly great sound ? I don't want to dance to the music. I like to hear my heart beat fast, listing to the rumble of performance engines.
But really, thanks for the awesome video. |
Very enjoyable! For stills, go to www.lightspeedphoto.net, left hand column on the main page, click on "Willis 24".

Great video and stills for those that couldn't be there. I like "The Iron Chef" theme music! :MECOOL:
|
Great video of a great event. Thanks.
|
Funfer.....
The sound is edited out so you won't hear me keep saying "Oh sh...." or "out the way you basta.." or other standard verbal driving signals ;)
BTW - my car is the one from which the video was shot. However, I noticed that Stephen edited out the part where he nearly put Rob's Coupe into my trunk on turn 6 :3DSMILE: Now that was a cool shot! Can't wait to do it again!:D Scott |
Hey Manny....
I know you got a bunch of footage of the event, particularly the F1 start on Monday. Is there some way I can get a copy of your video (at least the parts that you aren't selling to the XXX sites)
Thanks! Scott |
I would settle for the raw unedited footage as long at it shows me passing the Cobras in the grocery getter:p

I'm finally back from the beach and I want to say that I really had a great time this year. Monday and the little racing school was a lot of fun. I was really worried when I realized it was going to rain on Saturday. I had no idea what to say at the driver's meeting, so I told the "cat story". Glad it was a hit.
I have some good video of the Cobra group that I took. How do I post it ? Who can I send it to ? The practice race starts were fun as well. I have that on video too. Race starts can be dangerous. Check out this thread for a look at the damage that can occur and also the various mindsets that you are likely to run into (pardon the pun) out on a race track. http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/t66355-15&pagenumber=1 |
looks like fun!

I love the music at the beginning of this video! What movie is that from? Sounds like something Hans Zimmer would produce.
|
Stephen where are you????
Stephen put the video together and I haven't seen any posts from him. Maybe he's preparing the blackmail letters for all the footage that was edited out :D
Stephen, tried to email you but your server is rejecting the messages. Are you out there? Thanks! Scott |
Johan,
PLEASE send a copy to me.... If it is digitized, send it to president@deepsouthcobraclub.com or send a tape to my work address: 4502 Woodland Corporate Blvd Tampa, FL 33614 Thanks, Ed |
I'm going to send it to Steven because he did the last one and he is local. You will get a copy.

Soundtrack ?
Ed:
Wow, that was great........... The Soundtrack " The Iron Chef ", any more info available ? I tried ITunes, Amazon, Google and Ask Jeeves, none could identify the source ? Is there an album name, composer or ? Don |
Bigger video
I have talked to Ed, Johan and Stephen.....We'll put all Willis '05 shots on one DVD and bring them to the Round-up. Yes we will let Stephen put music to the shots. If anyone wants something from Lightspeedphoto let me know and we'll bring them too...
SCCA across the street this weekend. 65+ Miata's should be interesting. Rob |
Is it possible the sound track is from the 1991 movie " Backdraft " ? The description of Han's music score fits the video
http://www.moviemusic.com/soundtrack.asp?id=backdraft Click on " Show Me Your Firetruck " " This is one of Hans Zimmer's best scores. Surpringsly, the emotionally evocative and powerful score was not written for a Jerry Bruckheimer (Days of Thunder, Crimson Tide, The Rock) production, but a Ron Howard film! Zimmer has indeed stamped his mark on film scoring - a mark that has already been imitated on more than many occasions all within the same decade. This music pumps up the blood pressure. In addition to the power and driving urgency behind most of this score, several beautifully tender moments exist. Two songs performed by Bruce Hornsby and the Range neither add to nor detract from the album. " _ |
I can finally log in. :)
Sorry for the delay in responding here. My password wouldnt reset, and I've been swamped at work.
Yes, I found the Iron Chef theme music on a fan website. They use the soundtrack to Backdraft (the movie). Johan, please mail me the raw footage of what you have and I'll cut a DVD. Email me for my home address. I'll even include the section where Scott and I demonstrate some fierce braking ability. :) http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...10583Coupe.jpg |
Video coming shortly

Stephen,
I've got some video that I can digitize and send to you. It's a bit shaky so not sure if it's usable. Send me an email if you want it. president@deepsouthcobraclub.com Ed |
