Ed,
I just signed up for Reptile Roundup 2007 now as I can’t have you guys tacking on an extra 15% later this month, Hell I’m retired. Sorry I didn’t get to Roberts party last month as I was on vacation and I have a local car show and a few other things this weekend so I will be missing your gathering as well. I hope we have a large turnout this year as it would be nice to get together with old friends again, as this has always been the best part of being a Deep South Cobra Club member.

Engineer Ed 09-16-2007 08:10 PM

Dan,
Thanks for signing up.
As usual, the Cobra gang is waiting until the last minute to sign up for the Roundup. I think they all just want to see me go completely gray haired.

Even a 15% discount cannot entice more than a handfull to register early....

I cant wait to see you guys again.
This year is going to be great.
It's our first time running the Touring Rallies but I'm sure you guys will love the new events.

Ed,
We use to use the web a lot more but now even on our dedicated portion of club cobra posts are very rare, and without it the only communication to our membership has been Larry’s emailed up dates. These email lists are also going to be shortened as at the beginning of 2008 aren’t only people who paid the $25 yearly fee to join our club be kept on our mailing lists? The internet is how we started the Deep South Cobra Club and I feel it is still the best way to keep it going but it sure helps with having people who actually post on these threads so you don’t feel as if you are totally alone in setting up our annual event.

Count me in. I signed up for both the October event and the Round Up. Hope to see a good turn out.:D

Rickd 09-17-2007 05:26 PM

Ed, I had planned on attending, but my car at this point is a painted body mounted on a chasis, sans suspension, motor (which is in the crate NEXT to the car), and tranny. ERA says maybe between Thanksgiving and Christmas, so next year I will participate. Rickd from Miami.

Dan,

Just wanted to clarify things with regard to DSCC membership.
Yes, paid members definitely get newletter mailings. Also, registered (non-paid) members get the newletter as well. They must renew their registration on a yearly basis to stay on the mailing list.

Also, THE NEWLETTERS ARE POSTED ON THE WEBSITE http://dscc.us/dscc_news.php. You can get their from the scolling marque at the top of each page, or from the link on the events page.

The website will continue to have up to the minute updates for our members, so check back often.

Hope to hear from someone.

Yamazee,

What kind of Cobra do you have?

BDR561 09-19-2007 04:04 PM

There are several of us going up... This will be my first event also... I live just 10 -15 mins south of you in Odessa.... I will attend both the October and November event.

yamazee 09-24-2007 07:20 AM

Its a Backdraft, has a 392 stroker in it. I just added A/c heat, top, and custom made center console, for a place to hold the coffee in the a.m. :)

You're right down the road from me, let me know if you are up for a ride, or better yet if you know of any local events like car shows etc, let me know about that as well.

Engineer Ed 10-22-2007 09:36 PM

OK guys, time is running out to pre-order your RR items.
If you have any questions, send me an email.

Let me know- I am up north and not on my computer but you can answer here or e-mail me a flaralphanddeb@tampabay.rr.com

Question

Does the #12 rule for drag racing at the RR, "Fuel block, pressure regulator and NOS solenoids must be mounted no less than 6 inches from firewall." Mean I can't have the FPR mounted to the firewall or only if it's a solenoid?

RD31 10-29-2007 04:56 PM

danc30,
It's my impression that the 6" rule applies to regulators as well. That means I'm not in compliance with my current system.

Hey guys, I am considering coming to this event, and would like some input. I would like to have some driving fun with my Cobra. Something more than just driving on public roads, but something less than a competitive track outing. I come from years of drag racing (not interested in dragging the Cobra), and want to learn the waters of twisty stuff.

What events for this weekend should I consider?

Thanks!

RD31 10-30-2007 03:59 AM

Our track events are for "driver training". No police, no walls, no passing, just pure fun. Push your limits our just have fun with your car.

The Track Challenge would be a great event as well as the Friday open track.

Thanks,
Robert
