		Ross, are you sure you can not get away with using 100 octane at Union 76?  I have run this for years with no problem.  In the 110 to 120 range I was burning off the tips on the plugs.

The Certified station in Marysville(30-40 minutes from the 'Fling hotels) has CAM2 for $3.85 gal. Been this price for years, even as regular gas prices are all over the place. Obviously, they do a good business, so it's always fresh.

Thanks for the info, but I would like to find something closer to the hotels as my car only gets 6-7 mpg. The price you quoted is about right for racing fuel. At least it hasn't gone up like regular pump gas.

		Unless I am at the track I take my 15 gallon bbl to one of our local small airports and fill up with 102 octane leaded aircraft fuel.  Cost is about $2.42 gallon.  Same stuff you pay $3.75 for at the speed shops.  You must take a container because it is illegal for you to introduce leaded fuel from the pump into a street vehicle.

		I need the lead in the avgas to prevent detonization so what I do is mix roughly 50/50 blend w/ either 93 or 95 octane that I can buy at the pump.  I guess one could mix their own leaded ethyl gas   at home with a little peroxide.  I think that thread has passed through here once before.

		Lead doesn't prevent detonation, lead was used as a lubricate.  The old valve seats weren't as hard as the ones for unleaded fuel.  The octane number is your guide to preventing detonation or pre-ignition.

You know we have the same motors....I had asked John Vermerish about fuel the last time I had my car to his shop....he said I was wasting money on anything above 94 octane as our motors did not require it.  He went on to say it might even run better with 94 or 92/93 mixed with 100. 
 
While I like the smell and color in the pipes of Turbo Blue and alike, I've been burining 93/94 octane for over a year and she runs fine. 
 
Just my 2 cents.

I tried just running 93 octane and it runs very rough, backfires coughs, all kinds of s**t. I found that it runs best when I mix racing fuel and pump gas 50/50 or straight racing fuel.
