Default Yet Another Scrap Book of Pictures

(Let's see if I can do this right on the first take and not have to spend the entire evening trying to get the thing to work here on the forum.)

I took 423 digital pictures at the Spring Fling, here are 35 of the pictures along with some commentary.

It all began one dark and stormy evening ... no really, it did!

Driving into Ohio I was presented with a pretty large thunderstorm. Of course the storm was moving east and so was I.

The further I drove, the worse the storm. I decided to pull off one time to put the tonneau top on the Cobra that I was towing on an open flat car hauler. The second time I stopped it was for a pit stop. Just as soon as I stopped the car a flash of lightening followed by an immediate clap of thunder occurred. Just outside the bathroom a tree split from the lightening hit.

The drive into Columbus continued with a worsening storm. It got to the point that I was traveling at 40 mph along with semi trailers traveling not much faster. I really pity anyone driving their Cobra in on Thursday night!

The next day I went to take my Cobra off of the trailer only to find that the key to the locks holding the ramps under the trailer had broke. No problem, some quick work with a lug wrench broke the locks. Ramps out and in place the next order of business was to warm up the Cobra.

I've got a pre-luber on my Cobra; a flick of a switch and an electrical pump pre-lubes the engine with oil. Next, switch on the ignition and press the Start button. The engine turns over maybe once and then makes a cluck sound and refuses to turn over. The only thing I can think of is the engine must have swallowed some water while I towed the car in the rain: hydrostatic lock!

I borrowed a wrench and spark plug socket (I've forgotten your name, but THANK YOU AGAIN)! Eight plugs out, turn on the ignition, press the Start button; the engine spins freely and shoots water out of three of the spark plug holes! Spark plugs back in and give the engine a try: vroom! Whew!

Registration was in the parking lot of one of the hotels...

Along with Cobras in the parking lot were some other interesting cars, like Hershal's incredible RF GT40:

And there was a pretty neat looking Jaguar C type:

Got to mention Richard's Coupe...

Later in the afternoon folks encouraged everyone to, um, clean the road with their rear tires...
