DVSF IV DVD - Interest?
Hi All...
Been a while since I've posted about this. I posted my address in 3 separate threads asking for video of DVSF IV if you happened to take any. I received video from two people.
I just got a PM from BluCobra5 today (thanks!) saying that he had some video and asking if I wanted it.
I had written off the idea of the video since I only rec'd video from two people and didn't have much material to work with, but I wanted to re-ask the question.
First of all, would there be interest?
Second of all, if so, DO YOU HAVE ANY FOOTAGE?
If there are 100 people who want a DVD, cool.
If there are 10 or 15 or 20, this probably isn't going to happen unless someone else wants to piece together some of this stuff.
I was hoping to create a 30+ minute film like Weendoggy's from last year. I even bought the software to do it and had Edley Rondinone spend all day taking video for me, which turned out wonderfully.
But, I can't put together 30+ minutes with 3 sets of video. Well I can, but we're talking 15-20 minutes of drag racing and some video of the bands...

Fortunately and Unfortunately, Tom sent me one of the two I got. Fortunately, because he said it's REALLY GOOD stuff!
Unfortunately because that doesn't add a prospect.
Ah well... let's see. Thread's been up for about 20 minutes, we'll look at 'er in a week and see.

I saw many people taking video there.....hopefully some of them will step up for the cause.

I'm going to post an update here probably on Sunday (1/16). I appreciate those of you stepping up with footage, etc...
...also going to need to see interest in purchasing.
I enjoy doing things like these videos, but want to make sure, since we are closer now to DVSF V than DVSF IV, people would still have any interest. LEMME KNOW!!

I had to miss DVSF4 due to an unexpected hospitalization and ruined my perfect attendance record. I'd LOVE to have a DVD.

J.P.---How much "raw footage', (time-wise) do you have? I know I brought the camera back to you in London for a new tape, so that shopuld be at least a couple of hours, no?

There's a little over an hour of raw footage. Each tape runs one hour, so one hour plus whatever ended up on the second tape, which I think was around 10 minutes or so.
Like I said - I have lots on tape. I'm happy to put together something simple with what I have from your recording. I just didn't figure that there would be a ton of interest in an hour long DVD of drag racing down Main St. Although, I have gotten some good entertainment out of it!!
In any event, there has been very little response here on this thread. I'll give it a few more days, but...and my apologies to those of you interested...I'm not going to do this for 5 people. I'd want to put 30+ hours into producing it, and am not going to do that for 5-6 or even 10-12 copies.
If someone else wants to, I can send you my tape, and the tape from Tom Wells and the one other person who sent me stuff. Again, if 30-40 people really want a copy, I'll do it. I'm happy to. My cost would be a buck or two a piece, and I'm happy to donate all proceeds to some charity of our choice. I've been wanting to do something for Mike Braatz's organization, Boys' Village.
I just don't want to invest 30-40 hours of my time to raise 50 to 100 bucks. I'd rather just write the check. And I know it's not all about the charity, it's about the memories, but... again. Not for 5-6 people.
I know, I sound like a scrooge. Sorry.

Hi, JP. I would like a DVD. This is posted in the wrong place. Well, I know it's the right place for Spring Fling, but... it needs to be in all cobra talk. I don't go to many of the other forums, just what's in all cobra talk, for the most part. If I see it on the sidebar in active topics I might go to it. So, what I'm getting it is that many other people might do the same thing, and not see this thread except by accident when it's on the sidebar. I bet you'd get more than 30 takers. So, again, if this is redundant, and you've already posted this in all cobra talk, then good for you! I hope you get a good response. Many of the same people that bought the Cobra-Ferrari Wars would probably like this video. I've never been to a fling, and several of us in Big T are thinking about coming this year. I'd like to see what it's all about, rather than just reading about it in the threads.
