Rooms For DVSF V

Here is a list of the hotels that will be a part of the spring fling so far. All hotels are with-in 1/2 mile of each other. The Holiday Inn will be the main hub of activity for the Spring Fling. The other 2 share a parking lot and have easy access in and out. The Country Inn and the Comfort Inn also include a full breakfast with the room, and not a continental breakfast. The Country Inn has only non-smoking rooms. Each is unique in their own way, so you have a little something for everyone to choose from.

This information will not be available on a website until sometime in March. Rooms are blocked under the Double Venom Spring Fling or just Spring Fling. You need to ask for that block of rooms when booking.

Jack,
Did you get a quote from the three Hotels as what the cost per night would be at each location so we would know if we are getting the right price for Spring Fling. Please post the Hotel and the price they will be charging and type of rooms you booked. I really hate it when they say they are giving you this great price because we will be taking over their Hotel for the weekend and anyone walking in off the street can get a better price.

Jack, do you need help with the website? I cannot promise anything pretty, but could get it going.

DonC 02-07-2005 11:52 AM

Just booked at the Holiday Inn, Elyria.
They don't have any information on the Fling block via the front desk yet but informed me that I can call back as things get closer to take advantage of any special pricing for the block.
Was born and raised in Cleveland (east side) and was going to stop up after the fling was over to visit family. This way I can kill two ducks with one brick. Win/win for me at least.
Travel time the same from Oregon.

The Holiday Inn was 82.00 per night. The other 2 were 89.00 but include FULL breakfast. The Country Inns start at 89.00 but could go higher depending on the level of room. Online the Holiday Inn was 96.00 per night.

Jack,
At the time of the Fling, my son will be 15 months old. Do you personally know what the Country Inn and Suites place is like? It'd be nice to have a place that's fairly quiet, so we can make sure he sleeps, and have a large room for him to play in.

Steve,

My wife and I stayed at a Country Inn in Manteno,IL for New Years. Ours had a bedroom that was by the window and then had a small living room setup in the entry way. It stayed pitch black in there until late. The room was clean. We did have partiers outside the door which got a little old, but they were right outside our door. I think any hotel would be noisy if people are right outside the door. They were also very accomadating to us for breakfast with my son.

Steve,
The Country Inn is the nicest of the three, it should be quiet. Large room?? is that plus your room for him to play, or your room large?? I know they have some larger suites that aren't that much more, if you tell them you're with the group.

Dan Stryffeler 02-07-2005 02:36 PM

I have an extra room at my house, (about 10 minutes away), that I will only charge $80 for, but that price includes pop-tarts for breakfast...

ttt

klayfish 02-08-2005 05:20 AM

Thanks for the info Jack. Any large room would work for us. Just so he's got room to crawl, and by then he should be walking, around. He likes to play, so it'd be nice to have a spot where we can go back, put his toys down and let him go nuts, since he'll be in a stroller or in someones arms most of the day.

Hey Dan, pop-tarts? Do you at least warm them up? :D

Steve

Hotfingrs 02-08-2005 05:49 AM

Steve
Pop tarts are warmed to 98.6 degrees, but you don't want to know how.

Dan Stryffeler 02-08-2005 05:58 AM

Well... they've been around for awhile, so the flavor would be kinda hard to determine - but they probably are nice and crunchy!

Jack - need any help give me a call/email

- Dan (P.S. - Mustang motor back from the engine shop, 335hp at 5200 rpm, not too shabby)

klayfish 02-09-2005 10:40 AM

FYI, rooms are going faaaaast. The Country Inn and Suites said they sold all their Spring Fling Rooms in less than 24 hours. The Holiday Inn said they didn't have too much left. Better hurry.

Jack, you may want to look into finding more hotels.

Steve

Hotfingrs 02-09-2005 12:30 PM

Stop the Presses.....this just in. Got another hotel lined up, and a block of rooms. In the same vicinity as the others.

Currently they are a Quality Inn, but are undergoing a complete renovation, and will re-open in 4-5 weeks as a Red Roof Inn, but reservations can be made now.
