FIA Owners question
What brand and sizes are you running on your FIA.
235/60-15 fronts suggested by ERA 295/50-15 rears suggested by ERA Currently on my car: 225/60/15 fronts 275/50/15 rears My reason for asking is that the BFG's on my FIA are rock solid, and I am considering an upgrade (as funds allow) to a decent speed rated tire for some(very little anticipated) track time, with mostly street time. I'm running the 6 pin, FIA style wheel if it matters. Curious to see who is running what these days. Brand, sizes, speed rating, etc. Thanks in advance, Bill S. I have PSE pin-drive FIA style wheels on my car, 8.0" in front, and 10.0" in the rear. For tires, I started out with Goodyear Gatorbacks, with 225/50x15 in front, and 265/50x15 in the rear (the largest Gatorbacks I could find). I even detailed them out by painting Blue stripes on them, and filling in the Goodyear lettering with white paint. I have 265/50x15 in the front, and 305/50x15 in the rear. The Euro T/As are "H" speed rated, and fill up the wheelwells nicely. I have been very happy with my T/As (I know a lot of others on this forum don't care for them - maybe the "H" rated Euro T/As are softer than regular T/As?). Anyway, these days I do more cruising than track action with my car, so these are serving me well. regards, Jeff |

I purchased Mickey Thompsone S/T's for my car, have about 300miles on them so far since bringing it out of the basement. Sizes are 245/275 60 series. They look and handle fantastic. Performance Tire Plus has them available for free shipping. They fill the wheels wheels out nicely and give a period correct look to the car in that regard. Several of us, myself included, are running the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 which is available in the sizes recommended by ERA. Mounted on the 6 pin knockoff. Speed rating is S, which is 112 mph according to the Tire Rack website. Good ride characteristics, but have not pushed it on the track. Everything I read says to purchase Avon if you are serious about track tires with decent street wear.

I've been very happy wth the ZZ Avons 245/60/15 and 275/55/15 on the Kirkham Hybrid. The size is right for the fia wheel and performance is excellent. Get them from Sasco Sports in VA (434) 822-7200 or Roger Krause in CA (800) 510-7223. Allen |

That has been there for a very long time and was a joke to another CSX owner. You might have to see CSX 7034 one of these days because it is spot on to an original car. Allan |

You should start a thread as to the build of your car as I am sure there are others on this forum that would love to see a current production FIA Cobra that someone has taken the time to build that replicates an original FIA Cobra in every aspect. Which CSX2000 number Cobra did you use to get all your details from? Which engine / trans combo are you using, brakes, etc.? Is your Continuation an aluminum version? |

I am running Trigo wheels 7.5" front and 9" on the rear. Just purchased a set of Mickey Thompson S/R tires 26x10x15 front and 26x12x15 rear. H rated tires.

I'm still running the original ERA supplied Dunlaps. Not sure what I'll do when these wear out.

My FIA is the Unique flavor with a 255/40/17 front and 315/35/17 rear. I know not traditional, but I like the look better.

WarrenG, check the DOT manufacturer date code on those Dunlops. I just replaced mine that were over 6 years old. Don't take chances running old tires!

I used a little different approach for a "street" tire. Went with 265/50 Hankook Ventus H101 on all four corners. The diameter is a little small for the rear (25.4") but they look OK to me. I use 17" wheels/tires for autocross. I have pictures, but apparently they are to big to upload! Gary |
