Pedal Spacing
I know Cobras were designed in the day when people were smaller, but I don't know about everyone else, but I have big appendages!!:LOL: I'm 6', 210, and have big hands (palm a basketball), and EEE size 12 feet.
My issue was that when I put my foot on the gas, it would hit the edge of the brake pedal too. I tried skinnier shoes, but the only time it didn't hit was when I was barefoot. I am not really a barefoot driver kinda guy, so, I had to make a few changes... After reviewing Patrick's pedal spacing picture, I decided to manually adjust the brake pedal a little closer to the clutch, to give me just a little more room for the loud pedal... So I take the pedals out... http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...05_Medium_.JPG I find out that someone has engineered a pedal adjusting lock washer on the back... http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...01_Medium_.JPG Here's the clutch pedal.... http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...02_Medium_.JPG So I proceed to manually adjust the pedal (took a BIG hammer).. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...06_Medium_.JPG Here's the pedals together (see the adjusting nut and the spring retainer missing).. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...07_Medium_.JPG And then I got ready to weld the pedal adjustment nut onto the pedal... http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...08_Medium_.JPG My question is, did or does anyone else have this issue (big feet, pedal interference)? Just wondering..... |
I had the same problem size (13 foot), I also left foot brake so I made new clutch and brake pedals. The clutch is moved way to the left next to the cowl side panel and the brake was moved left about 2" and made about 2" wider so that I can catch it with either my right or left foot.

On a few occasions, we've re-bent the pedals for different spacing.
