Default ERA #673 Super Snake for sale

I spotted the black ERA Super Snake advertised in 427 Cobra Country. That is a spectacular looking car. Not sure if this shortcut will work or not.

This is one beautiful car! I can't imagine how much $$ was spent with ERA and the engine builder to make this car work. I'll bet that it was well north of his asking price. The new owner will definitely have a Cobra that isn't like every other one you see on the street. I can't imagine controlling all that power.

Nice looking car. It's been for sale for a while now, that's the second or third time it's been on Cobra Country.

I agree. The price is ridiculous. And when you consider that it's an automatic for $136,000, the seller appears delusional. I still remember Bill Malone's gorgeous black CSX4000 with Cammer selling for $110,000. And I think he bought it back for less last I heard.

Well true about the price-the owner is trying to recapture the labor expense for all the non-standard work and finish. He is including a second set of Paxtons and those are not cheap from Conley.
Maybe Rodneyem will chime in-he has just as much power to live with. Interested in his comments on stick vs. auto.
I suspect the C-6 may be a wise choice as this is not a road racer.
And Dan, you just like it 'cause it's black...

I just re-read and saw it makes 560HP-not nearly enough to warrant living with 2 blowers. Either they're making only 5 psi and/or the heads and cam needs to be awakened.
Beautiful (like all ERAs) but just a 'look at me' car.

Wink

That is a beautiful build. I remember this car as well.
I agree that it's priced too high.
This motor is pretty different from mine. Mine made over 100HP more withOUT the Paxtons. And this car at 560 HP and an auto, I think it would drive fine. More torque than most but nothing too crazy.
Hey Chas, living with Paxtons isn't crazy. Just dying with them.
ERA Chas likes this.

Love the car and amazing detail, I am not a fan of aluminum head engines, not good experience with that combination. Just my personal like opinion.

gorgeous car.

years ago, I had some work done by eric ? at performance engineering, Cincinnati, and he had a Paxton supercharged csx4000 car come in for some engine work. it was built to be a clone of one of the originals, and touted to have 750 hp. on his chassis dyno, I think it put out about 550 hp.

It's #673. The car was a clone of the Bill Cosby 427. Shelby chose the automatic transmission over a 4-speed so the car would be more drivable.

I guess it comes down to how much would it cost to have that beauty built today.
I'm thinking at least $12500 so the asking price is in the ball park.

This car did require a number of modifications by ERA to fit the blowers and auto trans. I happened by Dewey Street shop when it was being built and watched Tom Portante fabricate the "blower" hood. Fascinating to watch him work. He's now at Sikorsky fabricating "Jesus Nuts" for Marine Helicopters...
