No Instrument Light

Bob:

I was driving home last night and lost all of my instrument lights. I'm not good with electrical items. I checked all of the fuses, all good. I rotated the dimmer switch back and forth and got nothing. Car #269.

Update something is loose, when I hit bumps they come on then back off again. Tell me where to look.

I'd start with the gauge ground first, then where the gauges pick up power.

Put both the rheostat (dimmer) connections on a common side and see what happens. The rheostats have been marginal.

poor ground of the fiberglass dash----run a test ground lead to any single bulb that you can reach and see if it comes on-----------

On an ERA, if you lose the light circuit grounds (at the steering column mount), you will also lose the tachometer ground and it will also cease to function.

The tach was always been a problem, I will check the ground, thank youe.

Jeff
