Dang, did you already sell the black one and pick up this one? I like the motor.

nice photos!

side note: why don't people/manufacturer paint the engine compartment? leaving it "white" fiberglass clashes with the exterior shiny paint.

The firewall and inner fenders are actually brushed aluminium - which in the world of Cobras is way more desirable and "correct" than paint. The footboxes, as per the original SC Cobras are made of white fibreglass and left that way.

Regarding the foot boxes, in response to a post I made long ago I quickly found out that some ERA owners do in fact paint their white (as original) fiberglass foot boxes to match the exterior color. It's an owner's preference. Originals were as molded white.

Same with the aluminum panels - originals were uncoated aluminum and most leave them that way. Especially on FFR cars a number of owners have had them anodized and powder coated in a variety of colors. I coated mine with a clear marine sealer - Sharkhide. There's a strong argument that applying anything to the aluminum is just a maintenance and repair headache - bare aluminum holds up just fine.

I know - he's been through at least 5 of these in the last 15 months or so and at least 4 ERAs by memory. I suggested to Troy that he approach Velocity Channel about shooting a new series based on his passion for these cars - Flipping Cobras - or maybe - Chasing Cobras. I would watch it.
