GORGEOUS CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any chance you could post some photos of the underside showing how the exhaust system was fabbed? I desperately want to rid myself of the sidepipes and want a full undercar exhaust. Just need to see how it's done. Thanks in advance, that car is a stunner!!

Antny,

I'll try and take some photos when I can. If you still own SPO963, Superformance offers a complete under-car exhaust system that will provide the easiest solution. They even have their own heat shields for the underside of the floors which work great. My exhaust was custom fabricated from the headers to the rear. None of the stock ERA exhaust is still in use and I also am using 2.5" all the way back. Mufflers are 40" long Powersticks from Classic Chambered exhaust. I highly recommend them. Yes, the 2.5" tail pipes go over the axle and as such you have to compromise tire width a little. The car doesn't mind one bit!

Thanks so much! Yeah, I spoke with SPF.....for $7,000 plus overseas shipping, I think I need to have them fabbed locally....! Seriously, $7,000 is what I was quoted! Yikes.

I'd appreciate the photos very much!

$7K is a steal compared to how much money has been spent on my car's exhaust. I have a receipt here from the CA shop that charged the PO nearly $20K (not a typo) to fabricate his exhaust system and heat insulation. I had to have the headers redone and re-coated (were leaking at the welds) and threw away the rest of it all except the collectors after the headers that housed the 02 sensors. It was all crap, but boy they knew how to charge. I also redid most of the work from their $25K mechanical services bill for other stuff done to the car. Amazing what some people consider good work these days, and to over charge the customer at the same time??? The good news is I'm making everything right on this car. No corners cut, no nut/bolt left un-turned. :)

$20k for an exhaust system??? I can't make sense of any of these numbers!

Neither can I.

Wow - $20k for exhaust. I think my ERA headers were around $700 (can't remember for sure), mufflers about $150, tail pipes locally fabricated - $100, ceramic coating about $500, clamps, sealants and hangars about $50.

That guy was just throwing money at it.

:)Great looking car Troy. I love the colour....and it's just so refreshing to see a 427 roadster that's not Guardsman Blue, has a full undercar exhaust, no stripes.....and a street dash. Just gorgeous, mate!

Cheers,
Glen

edit: Oops! ....forgot to mention also.....Smiths gauges!!! It just looks so right ;)

Sweet Street! I have a friend with a SPO version and I just purchased ERA#520. Happy to be in the ERA group. Bob Putnam was kind enough to send me the electronic build manual.
Just returned from a Santa Barbara show and she ran great. Hope to post sometime soon.

Beautiful. So did the car oringally have the roll bar, or are those caps what comes from ERA when you don't order that option?

Original owner asked ERA for the option to add a roll bar, so the car was shipped with the roll bar uninstalled, but it's ready to bolt in. ERA made the painted covers to place over the holes. The ironic part is that in over 20 years the roll bar has never been installed (:
